Impact Jones is slashing .248/.317/.338 with three home runs and 14 steals this season, and all three of his home runs have come in July. The No. 2 overall pick in the 2022 First-Year Player Draft, Jones has really struggled to get the ball in the air, with his 52.4 percent groundball rate this year representing his lowest mark since 2023 in the Arizona Complex League. However, he's currently in his most productive stretch as a pro, so it's possible he's turning a corner midway through his age-21 season.

To open in High-A The Diamondbacks plan to have Jones begin the 2025 season at High-A Hillsboro, Alex Weiner of Arizona Sports reports.

Impact Jones played a full season at Single-A Visalia in 2024 after injuries limited him the previous two years. The 2022 second-overall pick had issues early in the season but finished strong with a line of .275/.409/.405 along with six home runs, 65 RBI and 21 steals over 109 games.

Impact Jones broke a tie in the top of the ninth inning when he clocked his first professional home run to the deepest part of the ballpark in left-center field. His first full season as a professional has been marked by injuries. After the second-overall draft pick in 2022 had his debut season wiped out due to a shoulder injury, Jones endured right quad and hamstring issues this season, limiting him to 10 games before rejoining Visalia earlier this month. He went 0-for-9 in the first three games back, but Jones has hit safely in three straight since, going 5-for-12 with two extra-base hits, two walks and two steals.

Activated off minor-league IL Jones (hamstring) was activated from the 60-day injured list Tuesday at Single-A Visalia, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.

Impact Jones originally landed on the minor-league injured list way back in April because of a right quad strain and then strained his right hamstring in late July as he embarked on a rehab assignment in the Arizona Complex League. Selected by the Diamondbacks with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2022 MLB Draft, the 19-year-old outfielder has appeared in only 22 professional games to date. He'll look to finish strong over what remains of Visalia's schedule. Jones could then perhaps make up for lost time with a different affiliate.

Rehabbing in rookie ball Jones (hamstring) has gone 3-for-12 with 1:4 BB:K in four games since beginning a rehab assignment in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League on Aug. 1.

Impact Jones opened the season at Single-A Visalia but hasn't seen any action in the California League since April 19 after sustaining a right quadriceps strain. He was cleared to begin a rehab assignment in the ACL in mid-June, only to be pulled off the assignment after four games when he strained his right hamstring. The 19-year-old is now in the midst of his second rehab assignment in the Complex League and has seemingly avoided any setbacks thus far while making his last three starts in center field. He could be activated from Visalia's 60-day injured list later this week or at some point next week.
