Shaky but victorious Steckenrider (5-2) won Friday's 3-2 triumph over the Blue Jays, pitching a scoreless ninth while allowing two hits and a walk.

Impact Steckenrider entered a 2-2 game in the ninth and loaded the bases with one out but was the beneficiary of a controversial call at the plate that resulted in an inning-ending double play. Seattle then rallied with two out in the bottom of the inning to make the 30-year-old victorious. Steckenrider has now recorded two wins and a save in his last three appearances and appears to have a crucial role in Seattle's pen.

Impact The right-hander came through handsomely during his first multi-inning assignment since May 18, firing 20 of 24 pitches for strikes in an ultra-efficient appearance. Steckenrider did allow an earned run apiece in back-to-back outings July 30 and Aug. 4, but he's been both a real-life and fantasy asset with a 3-2 record, four saves, three holds, a 2.25 ERA and an 0.98 WHIP.

Impact Steckenrider got some assistance from his defense to preserve the one-run lead, as Oakland's Matt Chapman was thrown out by Jake Bauers while trying to advance from first to third on Mitch Moreland's base hit. The reliever then induced a popout from Seth Brown to end the inning and send the Mariners to a series victory. Seattle manager Scott Servais has often mixed and matched in the ninth inning this season, but both Kendall Graveman (0.84 ERA, 10 saves) and Paul Sewald (2.37 ERA, three saves) appear to be ahead of Steckrider in the closer conversation.

Impact Steckenrider turned in yet another effective performance and was then rewarded with the win when Mitch Haniger slugged a grand slam to snap a 3-3 tie in the home half of the eighth. Impact Steckenrider didn't record any strikeouts, but he fired six of an efficient 10 pitches for strikes during his one frame. The right-hander has proven quite the find for the Mariners, as he's now sporting a 2.32 ERA and 1.00 WHIP to go along with a pair of wins, holds and saves apiece across 27 appearances.

Notches second save Steckenrider allowed an unearned run on one hit and struck out one in the 10th inning Wednesday to record his second save of the season in a 9-7 win over the Blue Jays.

Impact The right-hander did allow Toronto's phantom runner to score, but he had plenty of cushion to work with after Dylan Moore launched a three-run shot in the top of the 10th. Both of Steckenrider's saves this season have come since June 14, and he has a 0.00 ERA, 0.80 WHIP and 10:3 K:BB over his last 10 appearances. Earns first save of 2021 Steckenrider pitched a 1-2-3 ninth inning to pick up his first save of the season in a 4-3 win over the Twins on Monday.

Impact Steckenrider sent down the top of the Twins' order on just 12 pitches. He surrendered two runs over an inning in his return from the COVID-19 injured list June 5 but has since put together five scoreless outings. All in all, he's been a very reliable arm out of the Mariners' bullpen with a 2.59 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 24:9 K:BB over 24.1 innings, but he remains behind Kendall Graveman and possibly Rafael Montero in the pecking order for saves.
