David Sandlin - Drawing another start Sandlin is slated to start Monday's game against the Twins at Target Field.

Impact As expected, Sandlin will receive a second straight turn through the Chicago rotation after an impressive showing in his MLB debut last Wednesday versus the same Twins squad at Rate Field. The 25-year-old righty picked up a win and struck out four batters while issuing no walks and limiting Minnesota to just one hit (a solo home run) over six innings. Sandlin was pulled from the game after throwing just 61 pitches, and considering that he didn't cover more than four frames in any of his six minor-league appearances prior to his call-up, the White Sox seem likely to manage his workload carefully in future starts.

Drew Romo - Fading into timeshare Romo is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Twins.

Impact Romo had been serving as the White Sox's No. 1 catcher for much of May, but he appears to have since fallen into more of a timeshare with Edgar Quero. The White Sox will go with Quero behind the dish Monday for the fourth time in six games, with two of those starts coming against left-handers and two coming versus righties. Romo's downturn in playing time comes while he's hit just .171 with a 27.8 percent strikeout rate over his last 10 contests.

Matt Vierling - Bowing out of starting nine Vierling is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Rays, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Impact He'll head to the bench after starting in each of Detroit's last four games while going 2-for-13 with two walks and a run. Wenceel Perez will cover center field in Vierling's place in the series opener.

Ty Madden - Activated ahead of Monday's start The Tigers activated Madden (forearm) from the 15-day injured list Monday.

Impact Madden is set to start Monday's game against the Rays after missing the last couple weeks with a right forearm contusion. The right-hander threw 4.1 innings and 70 pitches in his lone rehab start and should be capable of stretching out to 80 pitches or so Monday in Tampa Bay.

Ricky Vanasco - Sent back to minors The Tigers optioned Vanasco to Triple-A Toledo on Monday.

Impact Vanasco has made five appearances for the Tigers this season and has been torched for 12 runs (11 earned) over 6.1 innings. He's clearing off the roster to make space for the return of Ty Madden (forearm), who will start Monday in Tampa Bay.
