JULY 27, 2023 • ROTOWIRE

Joins St. Louis Tepera signed a one-year contract with the Cardinals on Monday, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Impact Tepera was released by the Angels last month after holding a 7.27 ERA in 10 appearances this season, but he got back on track after inking a minor-league deal with the Rangers, tossing eight scoreless frames with 11 strikeouts. The veteran reliever will fill a middle relief role in St. Louis.
JULY 17, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Former Angels Reliever Debuts at Round Rock Ryan Tepera could be a veteran option for the Texas Rangers bullpen if he shakes off a bad start to this season.
JUNE 16, 2023 • STAR-TELEGRAM.COM
Catches on with Rangers Tepera signed a minor-league contract with the Rangers on Wednesday.
Impact Tepera was released by the Angels last month after holding a 7.27 ERA and 2.08 WHIP with 10 strikeouts over 8.2 innings. The 35-year-old has been plenty viable as a middle reliever prior to 2023, though, and is worth a shot on a minor-league pact.
JUNE 15, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Former Angels RHP Ryan Tepera now a free agent Right-hander Ryan Tepera cleared waivers and is now a free agent, the Los Angeles Angels confirmed Saturday.
MAY 20, 2023 • STAR-TELEGRAM.COM
Elects free agency Tepera cleared unconditional release waivers and elected free agency Saturday.
Impact Tepera was designated for assignment last Sunday by the Angels and he will now look for a new team. The right-hander has struggled to a 7.27 ERA and 2.08 WHIP with 10 strikeouts over 8.2 innings in 10 appearances with the Angels in 2023.
MAY 20, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Why the Angels designated Ryan Tepera for assignment and what it means for the bullpen The Angels DFA'd the righty reliever after he allowed two home runs to the Guardians on Saturday.
MAY 14, 2023 • THEATHLETIC.COM
Designated for assignment The Angels designated Tepera for assignment Sunday.
Impact Tepera has struggled throughout the 2023 campaign, and his poor outing against the Guardians on Saturday that saw him allow a pair of solo homers and blow a save ended up being the final straw. Because of Tepera's previous success in the past there could be some interest in his services on the waiver wire, and it seems unlikely that the right-hander would accept an outright assignment to Triple-A if he goes unclaimed/untraded.
MAY 14, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Blows save, takes loss Tepera (2-2) blew the save and took the loss in Saturday's 8-6 loss to Cleveland. He allowed two runs on two hits and one walk while striking out one over two-thirds of an inning.
Impact Tepera had a nightmare eighth inning, entering the game with a 6-4 lead and one out before immediately giving up a go-ahead three-run homer to Josh Naylor on just his second pitch. Though he managed to bounce back and get David Fry to go down swinging, Tepera was taken yard once again, this time by Andres Gimenez. After a brief stint on the 15-day injured list with a shoulder issue, Tepera had racked up seven strikeouts over 4.0 scoreless innings in his last three appearances but was unable to carry the success into Saturday's contest. The outing marked his second blown save of the season and hiked his ERA up to 7.27.

MAY 2, 2023 • DEADSPIN.COM
Activated from injured list Tepera was activated from the 15-day injured list by the Angels on Tuesday.
Impact Tepera missed the last couple weeks of action with right shoulder inflammation. The veteran reliever was struggling before getting hurt but should return to high-leverage spots in the Angels' bullpen.
MAY 2, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Starting rehab assignment Tepera (shoulder) will begin a rehab assignment with Low-A Inland Empire on Friday, Steve Wendt of 66ers Radio reports.
Impact Tepera is slated for one inning of work in what will be his first game action since he went down with right shoulder inflammation in mid-April. It's not clear how many additional, if any, rehab appearances he'll need before activation, but he's eligible to return Monday.
APRIL 28, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Lands on injured list Tepera was placed on the 15-day injured list Sunday with right shoulder inflammation.
Impact Tepera exited Saturday's game against the Red Sox with the shoulder issue, and the initial diagnosis is inflammation. The right-hander will be eligible to return from the injured list May 1, though it's unclear if he's expected to be healthy by that point.

Angels place RHP Ryan Tepera (shoulder) on injured list The Los Angeles Angels placed right-hander Ryan Tepera on the 15-day injured list Sunday with inflammation in his pitching shoulder.
APRIL 16, 2023 • NEWSOBSERVER.COM
Exited with shoulder injury Angels manager Phil Nevin told reporters after Saturday's loss to the Red Sox that Tepera left his appearance with a right shoulder injury, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.
Impact Tepera walked in a run in the eighth inning and immediately pointed to his shoulder before exiting the contest. There's a very good chance that the right-hander will be heading to the injured list to give the Angels a fresh arm in the bullpen even if the injury isn't significant, but that will likely be determined by how Tepera is feeling before Sunday's game.
APRIL 16, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Leaves with apparent injury Tepera left Saturday's appearance against the Red Sox with an apparent injury, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.
Impact Tepera appeared to be pointing to his right shoulder as he left the contest shortly after walking in a run. Tucker Davidson entered in the right-hander's place.

Could get some save chances Angels manager Phil Nevin suggested Saturday that the team's choice of closer early in the season will depend on "what the game dictates," Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Regist...
Impact Carlos Estevez was reportedly the frontrunner for the ninth-inning role at the beginning of camp, but the veteran has struggled this spring. While Nevin didn't indicate that Estevez has fallen out of favor -- in fact, the manager emphasized that he expects Estevez to "get some big outs late in the game most of the year" -- the door was left open for others to perhaps get a crack at closing as well. Jimmy Herget and Tepera would be the most likely options if that scenario plays out, per Fletcher.
MARCH 25, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Takes loss Tuesday Tepera (5-4) allowed a run on a hit and two walks with one strikeout in 1.1 innings, taking the extra-inning loss versus the Athletics on Tuesday.
Impact Tepera did fine in the ninth inning, but he loaded the bases and then walked Shea Langeliers to end the contest. That also ended a 4.2-innings scoreless streak for Tepera, who has worked as part of a closer committee down the stretch. The righty reliever has a 3.77 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 47:20 K:BB with six saves, five blown saves and 17 holds in 57.1 innings this season.
OCTOBER 5, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Converts sixth save Tepera struck out two in a perfect inning to earn the save in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Rangers.
Impact Jimmy Herget had closed out three of the last four games, so Tepera was a fresher option for the ninth inning. He got the job done on 11 pitches (seven strikes). Tepera's scoreless streak is up to 4.2 innings over his last six appearances, and he's added seven strikeouts without walking a batter in that span. He's got six saves and 17 holds in 58 appearances while posting a 3.70 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 46:18 K:BB through 56 innings this season. Tepera should continue to be in the high-leverage mix to close out the campaign.
OCTOBER 2, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Mop-up save Tepera picked up the save in Thursday's 4-2 win over the Athletics. He did not allow an earned run to score in one-third of an inning.
Impact Tepera entered the game up 4-1 with two outs and two runners on in the ninth inning. He allowed one of the inherited runners to score a wild pitch but got Stephen Vogt to line out to right field to end the game and earn his fifth save. Manager Phil Nevin has turned to Tepera more often recently in high leverage situations, and he has delivered with three saves, a hold, three wins and no blown saves over 8.2 innings in 10 September appearances.
SEPTEMBER 30, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Earns win in relief Tepera (5-3) earned the win in Tuesday's 4-3 victory over the Athletics, firing a scoreless eighth inning during which he allowed one hit and did not record a strikeout.
Impact Tepera entered with the game tied 3-3 in the eighth inning and was able to set Oakland down on just nine pitches. Jo Adell proceeded to hit an RBI single in the ninth inning to give the Angels and Tepera the win. Over his last five appearances dating back to Sept. 16, Tepera has recorded two saves, a hold and a win while surrendering just one earned run. He has a 3.79 ERA over 54.2 innings on the campaign.
SEPTEMBER 28, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Picks up fourth save Tepera gave up one hit and no walks in a scoreless ninth inning of work to earn the save in a 4-2 victory over the Twins on Friday. He struck out two.
Impact Tepera recorded three outs in 15 pitches to notch his fourth save of the season. He is part of a closer committee in Los Angeles and now has two saves and two wins with an ERA of 4.50 in September. The veteran right-hander has a WHIP of 1.09 in 53.1 innings this season.
SEPTEMBER 24, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Secures third save Tepera allowed a run on one hit and struck out one in one inning to earn the save in Friday's 8-7 win over the Mariners.
Impact Tepera yielded a one-out solo shot to Carlos Santana in the ninth inning but still managed to get the job done after that. The right-handed reliever has had a shaky September, allowing four runs (three earned) over five innings across five appearances. The save was his third of the season and his first opportunity since a blown save Aug. 24 versus the Rays. Tepera has a 4.03 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 39:18 K:BB through 51.1 innings while adding 16 holds and a 4-3 record, so he's still seeing his fair share of high-leverage chances despite middling results. Regular closer Jimmy Herget earned a hold with a scoreless eighth inning, facing the top of the Mariners' order.
