Misses big-league roster The Pirates reassigned Hall to minor-league camp Tuesday.

Impact The 29-year-old joined Pittsburgh as a non-roster invitee in December and clubbed three homers during spring training, though he also batted just .190. Hall spent last season at the Triple-A level with the Phillies and had an underwhelming .238/.321/.390 slash line with 16 home runs in 114 games.

Impact Hall was signed to a minor-league contract with a spring training invite back in December. The 29-year-old has a .700 OPS with 10 home runs over 198 career plate appearances at the major-league level but spent all of 2024 at Triple-A Lehigh Valley in the Phillies organization. The Pirates' plan is to fill the void left by Horwitz internally, and while Jared Triolo and Billy Cook are probably the favorites to emerge at first base, Hall now has a fighting chance to make the Opening Day roster.

Inks minors deal with Pittsburgh The Pirates signed Hall to a minor-league contract on Dec. 21, MiLB Central reports.

Impact Hall spent the entirety of the 2024 season at Triple-A Lehigh Valley in the Phillies organization, hitting .236/.320/.387 with 16 homers in 114 games. The Pirates don't have much first base depth, so while Hall is likely to begin the 2025 season at Triple-A Indianapolis, it's possible he'll eventually get another shot at the major-league level.

Impact Hall logged 198 plate appearances at the big-league level between the 2022 and 2023 seasons, but he's played exclusively for Lehigh Valley in 2024, slashing .250/.326/.407 with 12 home runs and one stolen base in 350 plate appearances before the Phillies booted him off the 40-man roster Friday. Given that Hall is already 29 years old, is limited to first base defensively and has posted underwhelming numbers at Triple-A this season, it's not particularly surprising that he didn't draw any interest on waivers.
