Impact Seabold previously made 19 starts at the big-league level between stops with the Red Sox and Rockies from 2021 through 2023, but he fell short in his bid for a spot in the Rays' Opening Day rotation. Impact Seabold, 29, pitched for the Samsung Lions in Korea in 2024, posting a 3.43 ERA and 158:40 K:BB across 160 innings. He's managed just an 8.12 ERA over parts of three big-league seasons and is likely to open 2025 as part of the rotation at Triple-A Durham.

Inks deal with Korean club Seabold signed a one-year, $900,000 contract with the Samsung Lions of the Korea Baseball Organization on Friday, Jee-ho Yoo of South Korea's Yonhap News Agency reports.

Impact Seabold will have an opportunity to make an additional $100,000 in incentives, which would bring his earnings to an even $1 million. It's a nice little raise and opportunity for the soon-to-be 28-year-old after he was released by the Rockies earlier this month following a 7.52 ERA in 2023.

All of them have been earned, and yielding 10 home runs in that span certainly isn't helping his cause, though half of those long balls have come in his two road starts in that span. Seabold now has a 7.18 ERA, 1.57 WHIP and 54:24 K:BB through 72.2 innings on the year. Despite the crooked numbers, the Rockies are currently lacking in pitching depth, so he can be tentatively projected to make a road start in Miami next week.
