Tagged with seventh loss
Prielipp (3-7) took the loss Friday in San Diego, giving up six runs on eight hits with seven strikeouts and two walks over six innings.
Impact
After a six-start string of solid performances -- during which he posted a 4.09 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 10.1 K/9 -- Prielipp has now surrendered 14 earned runs across his past two outings. The left-hander had a strong start to his MLB career with a 2.88 ERA and 0.96 WHIP in his first five big-league appearances earlier this year, but he's been unable to maintain that level of effectiveness and has a 5.57 ERA and 1.40 WHIP through 18 starts.

Shelled in fifth inning
Prielipp (3-6) took the loss against the Phillies on Saturday, allowing eight runs on eight hits and four walks in five innings. He struck out six.
Impact
It was perhaps a season-worst outing by Prielipp, who surrendered seven of his season-high eight runs in a disastrous fifth inning. The left-hander has delivered mixed results at best lately, fanning at least five while tossing at least five innings in five consecutive starts but has given up fewer than three runs just once during that span. Prielipp will bring a 5.34 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 94:36 K:BB over 87.2 innings into his next scheduled appearance in San Diego.

Fans seven in no-decision
Prielipp took a no-decision against the Brewers on Sunday, allowing three runs on five hits and two walks in five innings. He struck out seven.
Impact
Prielipp bookended his outing poorly, serving up a Jackson Chourio home run in the first inning before coughing up two more runs in the fifth, but he did register 15 whiffs Sunday. The seven punchouts were the southpaw's most since June 28 versus the Rockies, which also represents his last quality start. Prielipp will be tough to trust when he brings a shaky 4.79 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 88:32 K:BB over 82.2 innings into his next scheduled outing at home against Philadelphia.

Escapes with no-decision Saturday
Prielipp didn't factor into the decision in Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Mariners, giving up three runs on four hits and four walks over 5.1 innings. He struck out five.
Impact
The rookie left-hander tossed 58 of 88 pitches for strikes in a shaky performance and found himself in a 3-0 hole after two innings, but Prielipp avoided his sixth loss of the season when his offense rallied to tie it up once he's hit the showers. Despite missing time in June due to a blister problem, Prielipp has given up three earned runs or fewer in five straight outings dating back to June 19, posting a 3.86 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 30:10 K:BB over 28 innings during that stretch. He'll look to tighten things up in his next start, which is scheduled to come on the road next weekend in Milwaukee.

Strong showing in return
Prielipp (3-5) allowed one run on two hits and a walk while striking out five over 5.2 innings to earn the win over the Athletics on Sunday.
Impact
Prielipp faced the minimum through five innings, thanks to a pair of double plays. He was pulled after the Athletics turned the lineup over in the sixth, and Cole Sands wound up giving up a home run to Nick Kurtz that put a run on Prielipp's line. It was still an encouraging performance for Prielipp after the southpaw was sidelined by a blister. He's now at a 4.73 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 76:26 K:BB through 72.1 innings over 14 starts this season. The rookie is projected to make his next start in Seattle.

Reinstated for Sunday's start
The Twins reinstated Prielipp (finger) from the 15-day injured list ahead of his scheduled start Sunday versus the Athletics at Target Field.
Impact
Prielipp wound up missing slightly beyond the minimum 15 days after the Twins deactivated him July 9 due to a blister on his left middle finger. The southpaw tossed three innings and 32 pitches in a rehab start with Triple-A St. Paul last Sunday, so he'll likely be operating with some restrictions in his return to the Minnesota rotation. Considering Prielipp underwent elbow surgeries in 2021 and 2023 and is on track to handily surpass the career-high 101.1 innings he covered across three minor-league stops in 2025, the Twins are likely to manage his workload to some extent over the final two months of the season.

Set to start Sunday
Prielipp (finger) is listed as the Twins' probable starting pitcher for Sunday's game versus the A's.
Impact
Prielipp landed on the shelf just before the All-Star break due to a blister on his left middle finger, but he's apparently been cleared to rejoin the big-league rotation after one rehab start. The left-hander initially appeared set to take the mound in Saturday's contest, but Kendry Rojas instead ended up making a spot start in place of Mike Paredes (oblique). Prielipp has a 5.00 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 71:25 K:BB across 66.2 innings this season in his first taste of the big leagues, and he could have some workload limitations Sunday since he covered just three frames in his rehab outing.
