Phillips is allowed up to three days away from the team, so Roa's time with the big-league squad may be short. Roa has just one appearance with Miami this year, allowing one hit and one walk with three strikeouts over two scoreless innings against Philadelphia on Sept. 6.

The 26-year-old's performance will earn him a spot in Miami's bullpen as the replacement for the injured Freddy Tarnok (ankle). Roa will be making his MLB debut whenever he gets into a game.

Impact Roa ended the 2024 season on the 60-day injured list with the Reds after suffering a right shoulder strain. The 25-year-old righty spent all of last season in Triple-A, where he posted a 5.55 ERA and 1.76 WIHP across 48.2 innings before going down with a sprained shoulder, and he'll likely need to show some improvement at Jacksonville before getting a chance to make his MLB debut.

Impact Roa posted a 5.55 ERA and 47:30 K:BB over 48.2 innings with Triple-A Louisville in 2024 before going down in August with a right shoulder sprain. He did not have surgery, but it's unclear whether Roa will be ready for the start of spring training.
