James Karinchak - Fails to make Opening Day roster The White Sox reassigned Karinchak to minor-league camp Wednesday, James Fegan of SoxMachine.com reports.
Impact Karinchak was erratic during Cactus League play, striking out 11 but also walking nine and allowing eight runs over eight innings of work. He could eventually get a shot in a White Sox bullpen that lacks talent, but for now the 29-year-old will pitch at Triple-A Charlotte.

Tristan Gray - Fails to make team The White Sox reassigned Gray to minor-league camp Wednesday, James Fegan of SoxMachine.com reports.
Impact Gray had a .977 OPS this spring and there were reports that he might even get some starts at shortstop, but he ultimately wasn't able to crack the big-league roster. He'll begin the season at Triple-A Charlotte.

Justin Anderson - Opening season in minors The White Sox optioned Anderson to Triple-A Charlotte on Wednesday.
Impact Heading into spring training, Anderson seemed to be a leading candidate to earn saves for the White Sox this season, but a rough showing in Cactus League play was enough to remove him from consideration for an Opening Day bullpen spot entirely. Over his seven spring appearances, Anderson yielded eight runs (seven earned) on 10 hits and four walks over six innings. The White Sox have yet to name a closer as Opening Day approaches, though manager Will Venable said two weeks ago that Mike Clevinger ranks near the top of the list for the team's options in the ninth inning.

Bobby Dalbec - Reassigned to minors camp The White Sox reassigned Dalbec to minor-league camp Wednesday, James Fegan of SoxMachine.com reports.
Impact Dalbec managed just a .607 OPS during Cactus League play, failing to make the Opening Day roster. The 29-year-old will give the White Sox some experienced depth at Triple-A Charlotte.

Oscar Colás - Booted from 40-man roster The White Sox designated Colas for assignment Wednesday, James Fegan of SoxMachine.com reports.
Impact Colas got a big signing bonus from the White Sox in January of 2022 after defecting from Cuba and had a nice first season in the minors, but things have trended poorly since then. The 26-year-old has hit only .223/.271/.309 in 88 games at the major-league level and will likely pass through waivers unclaimed.

Greg Jones - Claimed off waivers, sent to minors The White Sox claimed Jones off waivers from the Rockies on Wednesday and optioned him to Triple-A Charlotte.
Impact Jones will join the third organization of his career after he was initially drafted by the Rays in 2019 before being dealt to the Rockies last March. He appeared in six games in the majors with Colorado in 2024 but otherwise spent the entire season at Triple-A Albuquerque, where he produced a .269/.346/.460 batting line to go with 16 home runs and 46 stolen bases over 406 plate appearances. Though he'll report to the minors to begin the upcoming season, Jones should be in the mix for playing time in Chicago at some point in 2025, given the lack of established talent on the big-league roster.
