Hits third homer of year Perez went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 9-7 victory over Texas.

Impact Perez has been extremely productive across 21 games so far this season. The catcher now has a .321 batting average, as well as a .908 OPS. The 32-year-old veteran has never been able to put together a full season in the big leagues, so expectations should still be tempered for now. However, this hot start has certainly been an encouraging sign.

Homers Wednesday Perez went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Wednesday's loss to the Yankees.

Impact Perez got Oakland on the board in the second inning with a solo shot of Jhony Brito. It's the second homer of the year for Perez, his first since April 12. The 32-year-old catcher has hit safely in four straight contests, though the home run was his first extra-base hit in eight games. Perez is now slashing .327/.390/.481 with six RBI and six runs scored through 59 plate appearances. While Perez's numbers are impressive in a vacuum, he doesn't have much fantasy value while backing up Shea Langeliers.

Impact The veteran backstop launched a 396-foot shot to left field in the fifth inning to extend the Athletics' lead to 4-2 at the time, and he followed with his timely knock to plate Nick Allen in the eighth. Perez is receiving sparse opportunity thus far, but he's hit safely in each of the three games in which he's registered at least one plate appearance.
