Collects 12th save Estevez secured the save in Monday's 7-5 victory over Houston, allowing one hit and no walks over a scoreless inning with one strikeout.
Impact After conceding a leadoff single to Jose Altuve in the ninth, Estevez cleanly retired the next three batters to bag his 94th career save. The 32-year-old has converted his last seven save opportunities, cementing him as the Kansas City closer. Overall, Estevez has pitched to a 2.37 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 17:9 K:BB across 19 innings.

Hangs on for save Wednesday Estevez picked up the save Wednesday against the White Sox after allowing one run on three hits in the ninth inning. He struck out two.
Impact It wasn't easy for Estevez, who struggled with his command as 15 of his 21 pitches hit for strikes. The hard-throwing right-hander has still managed to successfully convert his last six save opportunities, which would figure to give him a pretty long leash as Kansas City's closer going forward. Despite posting a shaky 15:9 K:BB this season, Estevez has a 2.65 ERA and 1.24 WHIP and hasn't allowed a single home run over 17 innings.

Secures 10th save Estevez collected the save in Monday's 3-0 win against the White Sox, allowing one hit and no walks over a scoreless inning with no strikeouts.
Impact The Kansas City closer required only eight pitches, seven of which were strikes, to retire the side and lock down the Royals' 20th win. Since his last blown save April 22 against Colorado, Estevez has made five consecutive scoreless appearances over which he's bagged five saves. Through 16 innings, he has pitched to a 2.25 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 13:9 K:BB while not allowing a home run.
MAY 6 • ROTOWIRE
Hangs on for ninth save Estevez picked up the save in Wednesday's 3-0 win over the Rays after allowing two hits in a scoreless ninth inning. He struck out one.
Impact Estevez allowed the possible tying run to get to the plate Wednesday, but he punched out Taylor Walls and got Chandler Simpson to fly out to hold on for the save. The hard-throwing right-hander has yielded nine walks over 15 innings this year, but he's conceded just eight hits and hasn't served up a home run yet. Estevez has settled in as Kansas City's clear favorite for saves, submitting a 2.40 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 13:9 K:BB while converting nine of his 11 save chances.

Impact Estevez gave up a single to Jose Cabellero but had no trouble finishing the 3-1 win. It was Estevez's eighth save in 10 chances and he's now converted three straight. He dropped his ERA to 2.57 with a 12:9 K:BB across 14 frames.

Sharp in seventh save Estevez struck out one in a perfect inning to earn the save in Saturday's 2-0 win over the Astros.
Impact Estevez retired the side on six pitches, all strikes, to earn his seventh save of the season. The right-hander ceded a save chance to Lucas Erceg on Friday, but that was likely because Estevez had pitched two of the previous three days. He's still got the upper hand for save chances in the Royals' bullpen, having converted seven of nine opportunities so far this season. Estevez has a steady 2.77 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 11:9 K:BB over 13 innings. He's no stranger to having a high walk rate -- his 2.0 BB/9 over 55 innings was by far the lowest mark of his career. That said, it could become an issue if he starts allowing more hits.

Charged with blown save Estevez was charged with a blown save after allowing three runs on one hit and three walks Tuesday against the Rockies. He did not record a strikeout.
Impact Estevez was brought in for the ninth inning to protect a two-run lead. He got two outs on just four pitches but then proceeded to load the bases with three straight walks and Jacob Stallings made him pay with a bases-clearing double. The Royals were able to get a run back in the ninth to send the game to extras and save Estevez from a loss. Estevez has now issued a walk in three straight appearances, and he has a 1:5 K:BB in four innings over that span. For the season, he owns a 3.27 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 10:9 K:BB in 11 innings.

Estevez is also 5-for-6 on save chances and remains cemented as the closer over Lucas Erceg in Kansas City.

Picks up fourth save Estevez earned the save in Thursday's 3-2 win over the Twins, allowing a hit while striking out one in a scoreless ninth inning.
Impact Estevez found himself in trouble, allowing a one-out single before hitting Harrison Bader with a pitch to put the tying and go-ahead runs on base. However, the right-hander would strike out Matt Wallner before inducing a groundout from Willi Castro to seal the Royals' one-run victory. While it hasn't always come easily, Estevez has converted four of Kansas City's five save chances this year while allowing one earned run on three hits and four walks in his first six innings.
