Sent to minor-league camp The Giants optioned Doval to their minor-league camp Monday.

Impact Doval has yet to pitch above the High-A level, so he likely wasn't a serious candidate to break camp with the Giants. After losing a year of development time due to the cancellation of the 2020 minor-league season, Doval will likely begin the upcoming campaign at Double-A Richmond.

Impact A 23-year-old relief pitching prospect, Doval spent 2019 at High-A and was at the alternate training site this past summer. He misses a lot of bats but needs to refine his command. It's possible he could debut in the majors in the second half of 2021 or in early 2022.
