INJURIES

Starting Wednesday The Angels will recall Dana from Triple-A Salt Lake to start Wednesday's game against the Royals in Anaheim, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.
Impact With Victor Mederos (shoulder) and Tyler Anderson (oblique) both on the injured list, the Angels will turn to Dana to fill one of the openings in the rotation. The 21-year-old righty hasn't fared well in the majors throughout his young career, allowing 16 earned runs in 16.1 innings while striking out 14 batters and walking 12 over five appearances (three starts) over the past two seasons. He also carries a 5.93 ERA through 82 frames in Triple-A this season, making him a risky streaming option for Wednesday.

Impact Dana was called up by the Halos on Saturday, and he'll return to the minors after giving up three runs over three relief innings against the Marlins. The right-hander should return to the rotation at Salt Lake, where he has a 5.21 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 41:16 K:BB over 38 innings this year.

Recalled by Halos The Angels recalled Dana from Triple-A Salt Lake on Saturday.
Impact Dana has spent most of the season in Triple-A, where he has a 3-4 record across eight starts with a 5.21 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 41:16 K:BB across 38 innings. He made an appearance out of the Angels' bullpen against the Guardians on April 4, when he allowed two runs on four hits and one walk while striking out two across three innings. The Angels designated Shaun Anderson for assignment in order to make room on the 26-man roster for Dana.

Dispatched to Triple-A The Angels optioned Dana to Triple-A Salt Lake on Sunday.
Impact Dana's stay with the Angels lasted just two days, as he was recalled from Triple-A on Friday and appeared out of the bullpen later that night in an 8-6 loss to the Guardians. Since he covered three innings and gave up two earned runs on four hits and one walk in that appearance, Dana was unlikely to be available for another day or two, so the Angels opted to swap him off the active roster in favor of a fresh arm in right-hander Michael Darrell-Hicks, who was called up from Salt Lake. Dana is expected to move back into the rotation as he returns to the Triple-A club.

Works three relief frames Friday Dana allowed two runs on four hits and one walk while striking out two batters over three innings in Friday's loss to Cleveland.
Impact Dana was recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake ahead of Friday's contest and ended up logging a sizeable workload of 56 pitches (34 strikes). The right-hander gave up a pair of runs, one of which came on Jose Ramirez's third homer of the game. Dana's call-up came as a result of Ryan Johnson landing on the paternity list, so the former's stay on the big-league roster may not last long.

Recalled from Triple-A The Angels recalled Dana from Triple-A Salt Lake on Friday.
Impact Dana will join the big-league squad as the roster replacement for Ryan Johnson, who was placed on the paternity list Friday. Dana made three starts for the Halos last season, allowing 11 earned runs over 10.1 innings while striking out eight and walking seven. He'll presumably work out of the bullpen during his current stint in the big leagues and is likely to be sent back down to Triple-A once Johnson returns.

Moved to Triple-A The Angels optioned Dana to Triple-A Salt Lake on Saturday.
Impact Dana was wildly inconsistent across his three Cactus League outings. He surrendered three earned runs over 1.2 innings in his spring debut before tossing three scoreless frames in his second start. He then struggled again in his most recent outing, giving up seven runs in one inning while striking out two and walking four. The 21-year-old prospect will look to find his footing in Triple-A to begin the year and look to return to the Angels' rotation midway through the season.

Shines in spring start Dana pitched three perfect innings, compiling three strikeouts against the Cubs in a Cactus League contest Thursday.
Impact Dana wasn't originally slated to start Thursday, but he stepped into that role after Jack Kochanowicz was scratched due to an illness. The 21-year-old thrived against Chicago, retiring all nine batters he faced on 36 pitches. Dana struggled in his first first appearance t his spring, allowing three runs over 1.2 frames against Seattle.

Returned to minors Dana was optioned to Double-A Rocket City on Monday.
Impact Dana has been hit hard since being promoted at the beginning of the month, surrendering 11 earned runs on 14 hits and seven walks while registering eight strikeouts over 10.1 innings. While this isn't the type of performance he was looking for in his first taste of the big leagues, the future is bright for the 21-year-old, who should be back in the near future.

Struggles again Sunday Dana (1-2) allowed five runs on five hits and two walks while striking out three over 3.1 innings to take the loss Sunday versus the Astros.
Impact Dana allowed five runs for the second start in a row, though he was able to pitch fairly well the first time through the order. Four of the five runs on his line came in the fourth inning. Dana now has a 10.45 ERA, 2.03 WHIP and 8:7 K:BB over 10.1 innings through three big-league starts. The 20-year-old offers little fantasy appeal in redraft formats, but this rough first stint in the majors shouldn't impact his long-term outlook. He's tentatively projected for a rematch with the Astros in Houston for his next start.

Falters in second start Dana (1-1) allowed five runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out one over one-plus inning, taking the loss Sunday versus the Rangers.
Impact Dana was pretty good in his major-league debut versus the Mariners last Sunday, but he couldn't follow it up against a more formidable offense. The Rangers pounced on the rookie for three home runs, and he left the contest after allowing five straight batters to reach to begin the second inning. Dana is likely to remain in the majors as long as the Angels keep with a six-man rotation, but he's a risky streaming option in fantasy since he's often had trouble with high walk rate. He's tentatively projected to make his next start at home versus the Astros.
