Falls short in bid for roster The Phillies reassigned De La Cruz to minor-league camp Sunday.
Impact De La Cruz previously appeared in 16 games for Atlanta in 2025 and slashed .191/.240/.213 across 50 plate appearances before being claimed off waivers by the Yankees and later outrighted off their 40-man roster. He linked up with the Phillies on a minor-league deal over the winter but was unable to secure a reserve outfielder role on the Opening Day roster. The 29-year-old is expected to open the season at Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

Impact De La Cruz will remain with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre moving forward after posting a .251 average with 10 home runs, 29 RBI, 29 runs scored and six stolen bases over 55 games with the team this season. The outfielder struggled to a .191/.240/.213 slash line with Atlanta over 47 at-bats in 16 games in March and April, and he hasn't seen a major-league at-bat since joining the Yankees' organization May 1.

Impact De La Cruz remains out of the lineup Thursday for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre's game against Buffalo, but he hasn't yet been placed on the 7-day injured list. Since the Yankees claimed him off waivers from Atlanta on May 1 and assigned him to Triple-A, De La Cruz has slashed .256/.333/.452 with nine home runs and six steals in 47 games.
