Nabs first steal Lee went 0-for-4 with a walk and a stolen base in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Giants.

Impact The steal was Lee's first in the majors. Considering he had just two thefts over 30 minor-league games this season, he shouldn't be expected to make a significant contribution on the basepaths regularly. Lack of speed aside, the 23-year-old is off to a good start in his Twins career, batting .300 with two home runs, nine RBI and five runs scored across his first 10 big-league contests.

Impact Lee has played third base in all eight of his big-league starts due to Royce Lewis (groin) being on the IL. However, Lee will get his first look at second base Friday, the position he's likely to transition to long-term once Lewis is activated. The 23-year-old Lee has a .947 OPS with a pair of home runs in 35 plate appearances.

Impact The news would seem to point to another stint on the injured list for Royce Lewis (groin), although there's nothing official on that yet. The No. 8 overall pick in the 2022 Draft, Lee missed the first two months of the season with a back injury but has slashed an impressive .329/.394/.635 with seven home runs and a 13:9 K:BB over 20 games with Triple-A St. Paul. Lee has mostly played shortstop this season with St. Paul, but he also has experience at second and third base and would figure to take over as the Twins' primary guy at the hot corner if Lewis does indeed have to miss some time.

Impact The top-ranking prospect in the Twins' minor-league system, Lee earned the level jump after slashing .292/.365/.476 with 11 home runs, 31 doubles, 61 RBI, six stolen bases and 63 runs scored in 87 games this summer at Double-A Wichita. The fast-rising 22-year-old shortstop was the eighth overall selection in the 2022 MLB Draft out of Cal Poly.

Heating up at Double-A Lee went 3-for-4 with a home run Wednesday for Double-A Wichita. He's hitting .344 with six home runs and a 1.047 in 23 games since June 15.

Impact Lee is hitting .289 with a .853 OPS and 10 home runs overall for Wichita. He had a slightly underwhelming start to the season (.269 with four home runs and a .772 OPS through June 6) for a player who was drafted eighth overall in 2022, but has improved as the summer heated up. It's especially encouraging to see more power.

Impact Lee began the season hot by hitting .323 with a .894 OPS through his first 23 games, but has cooled by hitting .200 with a .617 OPS in his last 24 games. There's still plenty to like about his performance with good walk rates (10.3%) and strikeout rates (16.2%), but he hasn't been overly impressive. The 2022 first-round draft pick may need to add more power (4 HRs and .429 SLG) to become an elite prospect.
