Clears waivers Bishop was outrighted to Triple-A Sacramento after clearing waivers Wednesday, Kerry Crowley of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

Impact San Francisco scooped Bishop off waivers May 17, only to designate him for assignment five days later when a 40-man roster spot was needed for starting pitcher Scott Kazmir. None of baseball's other 29 teams were willing to put in a claim for Bishop, so he'll stick in the Giants organization along with younger brother Hunter Bishop, a 2019 first-round pick who's considered one of the top prospects in the system.

Impact Bishop was designated for assignment by the Mariners on Thursday, and he'll now report to Triple-A Sacramento going forward. Bishop appeared in eight games for Seattle earlier in the season and could return to the majors at some point in 2021. Right-hander Reyes Moronta was transferred to the 60-day injured list in a corresponding move.

These spring struggles perhaps carry a bit more weight than exhibition stats normally would, considering they're a microcosm of the .128/.185/.151 slash the 27-year-old has generated across his first 94 major-league plate appearances over the last two seasons.
