Added to big-league roster Atlanta selected Burkhalter's contract from Triple-A Gwinnett on Tuesday.

Impact Burkhalter has made a full-time move to the bullpen this season and excelled, collecting a 1.26 ERA and 46:11 K:BB over 35.2 innings, most of which that have come at Gwinnett. The 25-year-old will be making his major-league debut when he gets into a game.

Returns from IL Triple-A Gwinnett reinstated Burkhalter (back) from its 7-day injured list Monday and assigned him to Double-A Columbus.

Impact Burkhalter had been stuck on the IL since the end of spring training due to back spasms, but he's been given a clean bill of health after making four rehab appearances in the lower rungs of the minors. He could eventually rejoin the Gwinnett bullpen later this season, but Burkhalter will first look to knock off some rust in the Southern League.

Shelved at Triple-A Triple-A Gwinnett placed Burkhalter on the 7-day injured list March 27 with back spasms, Jonathan Mayo of MLB Pipeline reports.

Impact Burkhalter, a 25-year-old righty, worked as a starter at Double-A and as a reliever at Triple-A last year. Despite the move to relief, his fastball didn't tick up past the mid-90s, and he managed just a 23:16 K:BB in 31 innings at Triple-A.
