Recovering from shoulder surgery Montgomery underwent left shoulder surgery in May and is done for the season, Geoff Pontes of Baseball America reports.

Impact He slashed .283/.313/.500 with two home runs, three steals, 20 strikeouts and two walks in 11 games for Double-A Hartford before suffering the season-ending injury in late April. Set to turn 22 on Sept. 9, Montgomery possesses above-average raw power and plus speed, but he struck out at a 41.7 percent clip in his first test against Double-A pitching. It's unclear if Montgomery will be fully recovered in time for spring training.
