Impact Brice entered with Boston up 10-4 and left after the Orioles clawed their way back into the game. It was his fourth outing of the season, all of which have come in low-intensity spots. Brice was unscored upon over the first three appearances before he made Sunday's laugher more tense after Trey Mancini touched him for a three-run home run.

Reaches deal with Red Sox Brice signed a one-year, $870,000 contract with the Red Sox on Wednesday, avoiding arbitration, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports.

Impact Brice was in his first year of arbitration eligibility this year, but he reached a new deal with the Red Sox prior to Wednesday's deadline. The right-hander dealt with a lat injury in 2020 but still made 21 appearances (one start) for Boston. During that time, he posted a 5.95 ERA and 25:13 K:BB over 19.2 innings.

The right-hander then struck out the side in the eighth. After a shaky start to the season, Brice has not allowed a run or a hit while striking out eight over his last 5.1 innings. With both Josh Taylor (illness) and Darwinzon Hernandez (illness) unavailable, Brice could be deployed in high-leverage situations.

Impact Hall worked behind an opener, Austin Brice, in the contest. It didn't go as intended for Hall, who yielded a three-run homer to Aaron Judge in the second inning and RBI doubles to Gary Sanchez and Gio Urshela in the third. Hall hasn't pitched deeper than the third inning in either of his appearances this year, and the results have not been good. He's scheduled to face the Blue Jays on Saturday.
