The diagnosis has since been upgraded to a strain, so he'll miss at least nine more days, with the move being backdated to Sunday. Nick Solak started at second base in his absence and will likely continue to play there until Ibanez returns.

Based on comments from manager Chris Woodward, Ibanez seems likely to require a trip to the injured list, which would pave the way for Nick Solak to take over as Texas' everyday second baseman.
