Impact Burns got into a pair of NLCS games as a replacement for Justin Turner (hamstring), but he wasn't particularly high on the depth chart, appearing in just nine regular-season major-league games. He'll return to his role as organizational depth for now.

Impact Burns appeared in just nine major-league games during the regular season but will join the roster for the NLCS after Justin Turner (hamstring) was ruled out for the postseason. The 31-year-old should serve mainly in a depth role.

Burns' defensive versatility and strong production over his 165 plate appearances at Triple-A Oklahoma City this season (.841 OPS, 10-for-11 success rate on stolen-base attempts) should at least allow him to catch on elsewhere on a minor-league deal.
