GAME LOG

INJURIES

Continues to provide good length Pallante allowed four runs on 10 hits and one walk while striking out five batters over six innings in a no-decision against Cincinnati in Game 2 of Monday's doubleheader.
Impact Pallante allowed plenty of traffic, but only one of the 10 hits against him (a double) went for extra bases. He held the Reds to just one run through his first five frames but faded in his final inning, when he gave up three runs on four hits. Still, the right-hander did his job by lasting six frames to help protect a bullpen that deployed five relievers in Game 1. Length has been a strong point of Pallante's of late -- he's now completed six-plus innings in four of his past five starts. While he's by no means setting the world on fire, Pallante has quietly shown considerable improvement over last season by recording a respectable 3.57 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 97:41 K:BB across 136 innings over 24 starts. He's lined up to next take the mound on the road against Philadelphia.

Tosses six scoreless in no-decision Pallante did not factor into the decision in Tuesday's 2-0 win against the Phillies, allowing four hits and three walks while striking out two over six innings.
Impact Pallante went toe-to-toe with Cristopher Sanchez, working around some shaky control and inducing three key double plays. The 27-year-old has logged three quality starts in five outings since the All-Star break, yielding just six total earned runs in that span. He'll take a 3.46 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 92:40 K across 130 frames this season into a road matchup with the Reds next week.

Limits Bronx Bombers to one run Pallante (12-6) earned the win against the Yankees on Wednesday, allowing one run on three hits and three walks while striking out four across 5.1 innings.
Impact Pallante kept the Yankees off the board through his first five innings, though he was tagged for a run after being lifted in the sixth inning, when George Soriano issued a bases-loaded walk to Jazz Chisholm. Pallante has yielded three earned runs or less in five of his last six outings, and he finished Wednesday's start with 13 whiffs and eight groundouts on 103 pitches (57 strikes). His 12 wins are tied for fourth-most in the majors this season, and he'll take a 3.63 ERA and 1.22 WHIP over 124 innings into his next start, which is lined up for next week at home against the Phillies.

Quality start in Thursday's outing Pallante did not factor into Thursday's decision against the Cubs, allowing two runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out three across 6.1 innings.
Impact Pallante put together another strong outing, logging a second consecutive quality start and eighth of the season. He finished Thursday's start with 12 groundouts and 11 whiffs on 90 pitches (56 strikes), and he came away with the no-decision after teammate JJ Wetherholt smacked a game-tying solo home run in the seventh. Pallante has a 3.72 ERA and 1.22 WHIP across 118.2 innings this season, and his next start is lined up for next week on the road against the Yankees.

He threw 57 of 90 pitches for strikes in the dominant performance and has now held the Reds to one run on four hits and two walks over 13 innings across two starts this season. Stumbles in final first-half start Pallante (10-6) took the loss against Milwaukee on Thursday, allowing six runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out two batters over five innings.
Impact Pallante entered Thursday with a 2.68 ERA and five wins over his previous six starts, but it was pretty clear early in the outing that he wasn't going to be able to continue that roll. Milwaukee tagged him for two runs on three singles in the second inning, then struck for four runs in the third, with the big blow being a Jake Bauers three-run homer. Pallante didn't give up any more runs after that long ball, but the damage was more than enough to send him to defeat. It's been a decent first half for the right-hander despite Thursday's loss; he already has a career-high 10 victories to go along with a 3.96 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 72:29 K:BB over 100 innings spanning 18 starts.

Cruises to win No. 10 Pallante (10-5) picked up the win Friday, allowing five hits and a walk over 5.2 scoreless innings in a 17-1 rout of the Cubs. He struck out two.
Impact The Cardinals backed Pallante by scoring multiple runs in five straight innings beginning in the second frame as the right-hander breezed through his afternoon, getting lifted after 102 pitches (61 strikes) and coming one out shy of his seventh quality start of the season. Pallante has given up two runs or fewer in five of six starts since the beginning of June, posting a 2.68 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 24:6 K:BB over 37 innings during that stretch, and his 10 wins ties him for first among all big-league starting pitchers this season with Chase Burns, Cristopher Sanchez and Justin Wrobleski. Pallante will look to keep rolling in his next outing, which lines up to come at home next week against the Brewers.
