Impact Whitefield was designated for assignment over the weekend and will now return to Double-A after going 0-for-11 in five big-league games. He has a .301/.400/.538 slash line with five home runs, 17 RBI and 13 stolen bases in 24 games for Rocket City this season.

Impact Whitefield joined the Angels during the offseason and will join the big-league club after posting a .938 OPS in 24 games with Double-A Rocket City. He made his major-league debut in 2020 with the Twins but appeared in only three games. The 25-year-old should serve as a reserve option at first base and in the corner outfield spots.

Impact Whitefield made the Opening Day roster, but he appeared in only three games and had one at-bat this season, so it's not much of a surprise he's heading to the alternate site with rosters dropping from 30 players to 28 players Thursday.
