Misses cut in title defense Hovland recorded a two-day total of three-over par at the Valspar Championship to miss the cut by two strokes.

Impact Hovland looked to be safely inside the cut-line as he was one-under through 27 holes, but he fell apart on the back-nine in the second round with three bogeys and a double bogey to miss the cut. He struggled with his short game, going 6-for-13 scrambling while losing 2.4 strokes putting. It's only Hovland's second missed cut since he won this event a year ago.

The Valspar Championship has a strong field despite following two big weeks at Bay Hill and The Players Championship

Falls short of top-10 finish Hovland finished T13 at THE PLAYERS Championship after ending the tournament with a two-over 74 final-round score.

Impact Hovland was eight-under through the first three rounds at TPC Sawgrass and was hovering near the top of the leaderboard after an eagle on the par-5 second in the final round. However, he quickly dropped down the leaderboard after carding three bogeys from holes four to seven before going two-over on the back nine. Hovland led the field in SG: Around-the-Green for the tournament, but he struggled across most statistical categories in the final round, ranking 67th in SG: Putting and T72 in GIR on Sunday. He's finished T13 in back-to-back weeks and will look to make it two wins in a row at the Valspar Championship next week. His one-stroke victory over Justin Thomas at the Valspar last year was Hovland's seventh victory on the PGA Tour.

Impact Hovland shot even par in three of four rounds at Bay Hill, with his five-under 67 score Saturday being his best of the tournament. He gained nearly four strokes with his putter, and while he ranked T16 in the field in driving accuracy, he also finished near the bottom of the field in SG: Off-the-Tee (41st). It was Hovland's second top-15 finish of the season, and he's made the cut in all four of his Tour outings in 2026. T41 at The Genesis Invitational Hovland carded a two-under 69 during the final round of The Genesis Invitational to finish tied with Ben Griffin and Wyndham Clark for 41st.

Impact Hovland ranked in the top-15 in the field in driving accuracy and GIR and finished 21st and 23rd in SG: Off-the-Tee and SG: Approach-to-Green, respectively, at Riviera. However, it was his putter who let him down, as he lost 3.94 strokes on the green and finished 45th in SG: Putting. Hovland will skip next week's Cognizant Classic and will be in the field for the Arnold Palmer Invitational that starts March 5. He missed the cut at the API in 2025 but made the weekend in each of his six prior outings, including a T2 finish in 2022 and T10 in 2023.

Impact Hovland made his charge on the weekend with a six-under 65 on Saturday and then was four-under on Sunday heading to some gettable holes to close. Hovland just didn't have the back-nine he needed with zero birdies against one bogey. The driver was the big issue for Hovland this week as he ranked 63rd in SG: Off-the-Tee, but he was fifth in SG: Approach and first in putts per GIR. He'll look to straighten things out off the tee at next week's AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, the site of his U.S. Amateur victory back in 2018.
