Misses cut in Scotland Lowry missed the cut by two strokes at the Genesis Scottish Open following his one-under 69 in the second round.

Impact Lowry ended Friday's round nicely with three birdies over his last eight holes, but it wasn't enough for him to qualify for the weekend due to his one-over 71 in the opening round. The Irishman gained 2.69 strokes in his approach play across his two rounds but lost 1.53 strokes with his putter while connecting on just 13 of 26 fairways. Lowry has failed to crack the top-20 in his 13 tournaments since his T2 performance at the Cognizant Classic in early March, missing the cut in five of those outings. He'll work on his game ahead of next week's Open Championship, which he won in 2019 for his lone major victory. Lowry finished T40 in last year's Open but missed the cut in 2017, when the tournament was last hosted by this year's venue, Royal Birkdale.

Drops to T22 at Travelers Lowry posted an even-par 70 in the final round of the Travelers Championship to finish tied with Kristoffer Reitan and Keith Mitchell for 22nd.

Impact Lowry showed steady improvement over the first three rounds of the tournament, culminating with a bogey-free, six-under 64 score Saturday. He was in the top-5 heading into Sunday and was three-under through his first 13 holes, but the Irishman crashed to outside of the top-20 after carding bogeys on the 14th, 16th and 17th holes. Lowry's late-round collapse was eerily similar to the Cognizant Classic and The Masters. He finished the Travelers T3 in GIR, fourth in driving accuracy, eighth in SG: Off-the-Tee and 11th in SG: Approach. However, he also ranked 57th out of 72 players in SG: Putting and lost 2.11 strokes in that category in the final round. Lowry has failed to crack the top-20 in each of his last 11 tournaments (including three missed cuts) and will look to turn things around in two weeks at the Genesis Scottish Open, where he finished T12 in his lone appearance at the event in 2023.
