Withdraws from Valero Castillo has withdrawn from this week's Valero Texas Open, Rob Bolton of PGATour.com reports.

Impact It's unclear what caused Castillo to withdraw from this week's event. He's not in the field for next week's Masters Tournament but is eligible for the RBC Heritage through his standing in the Aon Swing 5. The second-year Tour pro currently sits 29th in the FedExCup Standings.

Impact Castillo made just one final-round birdie at Memorial Park, where he ultimately ranked 74th of 75 in SG: Approach. However, he also gained a career-high 5.01 strokes around the greens in Houston, converting 26 of 33 scrambling opportunities in the process. Castillo drops one spot to No. 29 in the FedExCup standings ahead of the upcoming Valero Texas Open.

However, he hit just 39 of 72 greens in regulation while losing 1.77 strokes with his ball striking. Nonetheless, Castillo remains 28th in the FedExCup standings ahead of the upcoming Texas Children's Houston Open, where he missed the cut during his Memorial Park GC debut last year.

Wins Puerto Rico Open Castillo posted a 17-under cumulative score at the Puerto Rico Open to win the tournament by one stroke over Chandler Blanchet.

Impact Castillo was the most steady golfer in the field at Puerto Rico. His bogey on the par-3 second hole in the second round was his last of the tournament, as he went par or better over the final 52 holes, culminating in a five-under 67 score Sunday. While Castillo had accuracy troubles off the tee, he led the field in scrambling (90.48 percent) and ranked T18 in birdies made. It was the first PGA Tour victory in the 25-year-old's career and first tournament win since the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas Wichita Open on the Korn Ferry Tour in June of 2023. Castillo is in the field for THE PLAYERS Championship next week, where he missed the cut in his lone appearance in 2025.

Impact Castillo's best round of the tournament came Saturday, when he posted a seven-under 64 that included four consecutive birdies from holes eight to 11. His 20 made birdies was tied for fifth most of the event, and he ranked in the top-15 in GIR, scrambling, SG: Off-the-Tee and SG: Approach-to-Green. Castillo has made the cut in each of his four Tour appearances this season, and his top-5 finish at the Cognizant was his best outing since The RSM Classic in November (solo third). He'll participate in the Arnold Palmer Invitational next week for the first time in his career.
