Impact Castillo did just enough at Sedgefield Country Club to stay within the top-70 of the FedExCup Standings (68th) to qualify for the playoffs. He finished eighth in SG: Approach and 16th in SG: Around, though he also lost 4.48 strokes with his putter (76th) while ranking T60 in driving accuracy and 63rd in SG: Off-the-Tee. Castillo will tee off next week at the St. Jude Championship, and he'll need a strong performance at TPC Southwind to crack the top-50 of the FedExCup Standings for a spot in the BMW Championship and earn exemptions into all 2027 Signature Events.

Impact Castillo's final round at Detroit Golf Club was highlighted by an eagle on the par-5 14th hole, where his approach shot from 269 yards settled 18' 1" from the cup before draining the putt en route to a four-under 31 on the back nine. He ultimately finished the week ranked 15th among the field in both SG: Off-the-Tee and GIR percentage, though he fell to 71st of 73 in putting from 10-15 feet. Impact Castillo struggled with his iron play in Minnesota where he hit just 48 of 72 total GIR while losing 5.48 strokes on approach, but he gained 4.02 strokes with the flat stick en route to 14 birdies and two eagles. He improves one spot to No. 68 in the FedExCup standings with his fourth consecutive made cut, and Castillo will be in attendance again this week for the Rocket Classic at Detroit Golf Club.

Impact Castillo ranked third among the field in SG: Tee-to-Green during Sunday's final round at Harbour Town, converting all eight of his scrambling opportunities as well. However, he ended the Signature Event just 62nd in SG: Approach, hitting only 38 of 72 total greens in regulation. Nonetheless, Castillo remains top-40 in the FedExCup standings through his first nine starts of the 2026 season.

Wins Puerto Rico Open Castillo posted a 17-under cumulative score at the Puerto Rico Open to win the tournament by one stroke over Chandler Blanchet.
Impact Castillo was the most steady golfer in the field at Puerto Rico. His bogey on the par-3 second hole in the second round was his last of the tournament, as he went par or better over the final 52 holes, culminating in a five-under 67 score Sunday. While Castillo had accuracy troubles off the tee, he led the field in scrambling (90.48 percent) and ranked T18 in birdies made. It was the first PGA Tour victory in the 25-year-old's career and first tournament win since the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas Wichita Open on the Korn Ferry Tour in June of 2023. Castillo is in the field for THE PLAYERS Championship next week, where he missed the cut in his lone appearance in 2025.

Impact Castillo's best round of the tournament came Saturday, when he posted a seven-under 64 that included four consecutive birdies from holes eight to 11. His 20 made birdies was tied for fifth most of the event, and he ranked in the top-15 in GIR, scrambling, SG: Off-the-Tee and SG: Approach-to-Green. Castillo has made the cut in each of his four Tour appearances this season, and his top-5 finish at the Cognizant was his best outing since The RSM Classic in November (solo third). He'll participate in the Arnold Palmer Invitational next week for the first time in his career.

Impact Starting the day six shots off the lead, Castillo got off to a fast start with seven front-nine birdies to close the gap to one. He was unable to carry the momentum to the back-nine, however, where he carded two birdies and a bogey to finish two shots back. Castillo was led by his short game, ranking eighth in SG: Around-the-green and third in putting for the week. The rookie finishes the year 102nd in the FedExCup standings, narrowly missing out on retaining full status for next year.
