Impact Rodgers was cleared to participate in the 3M Open after being sidelined by a back injury for just over a month, with his last outing taking place at the U.S. Open (solo 71st). The rust was evident, as the American opened the first round with a seven-over front nine with three double bogeys before finishing the day with a six-over 77. Rodgers was better Friday with a two-under 69, but the damage was already done in what was his fourth missed cut of the season (and first since the PGA Championship). In his two rounds at TPC Twin Cities, Rodgers lost 5.96 strokes in his approach play while connecting on only 21 of 36 greens in regulation (58.3 percent). He'll tee off next week at the Rocket Classic, where he's finished outside the top-30 in all five prior outings despite making the cut four times at the event.
