Strong weekend leads to T8 Fishburn fired a five-under 65 on Sunday at the Wyndham Championship to finish 13-under and tied for eighth place.

Impact After making the cut on the number, Fishburn surged up the leaderboard over the weekend with back-to-back rounds of 65 that was highlighted by a bogey-free Sunday. He ranked 11th in SG: Putting and only dropped shots on six holes for the tournament. Fishburn closes the regular season in 95th place in the FedExCup Standings and will need to keep the momentum rolling this fall to retain his card.

Impact Prior to his top-20 finish on Sunday, Fishburn had missed the cut in five out of his last six tournaments. With a slow one-under par first round score this week, it looked as though he was on his way to missing another cut. However, Fishburn's putter got hot in the second round as he was able to rack up six birdies to go along with two bogeys to shoot a four-under par 67 to make the cut. Fishburn remained hot on the weekend as he closed with a 66-67 finish to capture only his third top-20 on the season.

Climbs leaderboard Sunday Fishburn fired a four-under 68 in the final round of the Valero Texas Open to finish in a share of fifth place.

Impact Difficult conditions didn't bother Fishburn on Sunday, as he tied for the low round of the day which was highlighted by an eagle and four birdies (to go along with two bogeys) to climb 44 spots on the leaderboard. He led the field in SG: Approach in the final round and ranked eighth in the category for the tournament. It was a much needed result for Fishburn, who hadn't posted a top-25 finish since finishing T6 at the Sony Open in Hawaii in January.

Impact Fishburn failed to break par in either of his first two rounds in Japan last week, but he racked up 10 birdies throughout his final 36 holes to salvage a T37 result, improving one spot to No. 86 in the FedExCup Fall standings. He ranked 12th among the ZOZO field in SG: Off-the-Tee and eighth in feet of putts made, but Fishburn converted only nine of 20 scrambling opportunities and he lost 2.6 strokes on his approaches.

Impact Fishburn managed to break par in all four of his rounds at the Country Club of Jackson despite ultimately losing strokes both with his irons and on the greens, though his week in Mississippi was highlighted by a bogey-free 67 on Thursday. Impact Fishburn had a very solid week gaining strokes in every category with a best ranking of 11th in putting. He was also T3 in GIR's for the tournament. His 70 on Sunday was a little disappointing after a 63 on Saturday, but he still moved up to 99th in the FedExCup standings from 117th. Fishburn likely needs a top-two finish at the Wyndham Championship to make the playoffs, but at least this finish does give him some cushion to 125th and being able to maintain his card for 2025.
