Barely qualifies for Signature Events McCarty posted a seven-over cumulative score at the FedEx St. Jude Championship to finish tied with Ricky Castillo and Aaron Rai for 63rd.

Impact McCarty entered the week 48th in the FedExCup Standings and needed to stay within the top-50 to qualify for the BMW Championship and earn an exemption into all Signature Events for 2027. He did not do well at TPC Southwind, going over par in all four rounds while ranking 62nd in SG: Off-the-Tee and second-to-last in SG: Around, losing 6.93 strokes in his short game, though he did rank eighth in SG: Putting (plus-4.52 strokes). Fortunately for McCarty, there wasn't a ton of movement on the bubble, with Keith Mitchell being replaced by Sungjae Im in the top-50. As such, McCarty will enter next week's BMW Championship 50th in the Standings, and he'll need a huge performance at Bellerive Country Club in order to qualify for the TOUR Championship.

T29 at Wyndham Championship McCarty posted a four-under 66 in the final round of the Wyndham Championship to finish tied for 29th.

Impact McCarty ended his final round nicely with three birdies over his final six holes to jump 29 spots up the leaderboard. He gained 6.71 strokes with his putter, which was sixth-best in the field at Sedgefield Country Club, and he also ranked T11 in birdies. However, he also finished 55th or worse in SG: Off-the-Tee, Approach and Around, as well as driving accuracy, driving distance, GIR, scrambling and bogeys. McCarty is 48th in the FedExCup Standings and his limping his way into the playoffs; he's failed to finish in the top-25 in each of his last nine outings, five of which were missed cuts, including at the PGA Championship, U.S. Open and The Open Championship. If he can stay within the top-50 of the Standings after next week's St. Jude Championship, then McCarty would qualify for the BMW Championship and exemptions into all 2027 Signature Events.

MC at The Open after late bogey McCarty missed the cut at The Open Championship by one stroke following his three-under 67 second round.

Impact McCarty needed to have a big day Friday after a five-over 75 opening round that ended with three-straight bogeys. He was far better in the second round and was right on the one-over cut line after carding five-straight birdies from holes eight to 12. Unfortunately for McCarty, his second shot on the 18th found the green-side bunker, ultimately leading to a two-putt bogey that knocked him out of contention for the Claret Jug. He was one of the putter putters through the first two days, gaining 2.34 strokes in that category, though he was below average in GIR and SG: Off-the-Tee, losing 1.06 strokes. McCarty is not listed in the field for the 3M Open next week.

Misses cut at Scottish Open McCarty missed the cut at the Genesis Scottish Open by one stroke following a two-over 72 in the second round.

Impact McCarty got off to a nice start with a three-under 67 in the first round, though his day was marred by a double bogey on the par-4 18th. That mistake ended up costing the American, who bogeyed three of his first four holes in the second round and went one-under the rest of the way, which was not enough for McCarty to qualify for the weekend. He was one of the better players around and on the green at The Renaissance Club, but he lost 2.87 strokes in his approach game, connecting on only 22 of 36 greens in regulation while losing another 1.09 strokes off the tee. It's the seventh MC in 21 tournaments this season for McCarty, and he's missed the cut in four of his last six tournaments, including at both the PGA Championship and the U.S. Open. He'll look to bounce back next week at The Open Championship, where he missed the cut in 2025 at Royal Portrush in what was his first start at golf's oldest major.

No. 1 in SG: APP at Travelers McCarty fired a three-under 67 on Sunday at the Travelers Championship to finish 11-under and tied for 30th.

Impact McCarty posted a streak of three consecutive par-breakers during Sunday's back nine at TPC River Highlands, highlighted by an eagle on the par-5 13th where he drained a 38-foot putt. He ultimately paced the entire field in SG: Approach for the week, gaining a career-high 7.47 strokes with his irons in Connecticut. However, McCarty also lost a collective 3.86 strokes on and around the greens en route to six total bogeys and a double across 72 holes. Currently residing top-50 in the FedExCup standings, McCarty has elected to skip the upcoming John Deere Classic.

Cannot overcome Thursday's 81 McCarty missed the cut by one stroke at the Memorial Tournament after posting a six-over cumulative score.

Impact It looked like McCarty would have no chance of making it to the weekend after posting a nine-over 81 score in the first round, during which he went four-over across his final three holes. He made a valiant effort Friday, but he was unable to gain the one stroke he needed over his final five holes of the second round. McCarty's iron game ultimately let him down, as he lost 6.25 strokes in his approach play in the first round. McCarty has gone MC-T60-MC in his last three tournaments, which isn't the form you want heading into the U.S. Open in two weeks time. He missed the cut in last year's major, and this year will be his first appearance at Shinnecock Hills.

T60 at Charles Schwab Challenge McCarty finished T60 at the Charles Schwab Challenge with a one-over cumulative score.

Impact McCarty came out of the gate hot with a bogey-free, six-under 64 in the first round. However, he shot over par in each of the last three rounds, including a five-over 75 on Saturday. McCarty's final round of 71 was a roller coaster, particularly on the front nine with four birdies and four bogeys. He ranked near the bottom of the field in SG: Putting and Around-the-Green, as well as GIR and bogeys made. It was a disappointing performance from McCarty as he was looking to bounce back from his MC at the PGA Championship. He'll tee off next week at the Memorial Tournament, which will be his debut at the Signature Event.

Poor first round at PGA Championship McCarty missed the cut by seven strokes at the PGA Championship after posting a 77-74 scorecard.

Impact McCarty had some momentum behind after finishing T12-T9-T10 in each of the last three Signature Events. However, that momentum evaporated quickly at Aronimink Golf Club, opening the tournament with a seven-over 77 that included five bogeys on the front nine. He was slightly better Friday, though McCarty didn't record a birdie in the second round. He struggled both off the tee and with his putter, losing 2.28 and 4.16 strokes, respectively. His MC at the PGA Championship ended his streak of top-25 finishes at five tournaments, and he has missed the cut in four of his last five major outings. He's not listed in the field for next week's Byron Nelson tournament.

Third straight top-10 McCarty posted a one-under 70 on Sunday at the Truist Championship to finish in a share of 10th place.

Impact McCarty held the first round lead after an opening eight-under 63, but he was only able to card one more round in the 60s to narrowly hang onto a top-10 finish. He ranked in the top-10 for the week in SG: Putting, GIR and birdies made. The PGA Tour rookie has been in good form as of late, finishing T12 or better in each of his last four starts.

MAY 11 • ROTOWIRE

Tied for ninth at Cadillac Championship McCarty recorded a nine-under cumulative score at the Cadillac Championship to finish tied for ninth.

Impact McCarty went under par in all four rounds at Trump National Doral, but he was inconsistent from day-to-day. His 21 made birdies were tied for second most in the tournament, but he also ranked T68 in the field with 14 bogeys. McCarty also finished third in SG: Approach (plus-5.70 strokes gained) and T21 in driving accuracy. It was his second top-10 finish of the season and his best performance since his T2 at The American Express. McCarty will tee off next week at the Truist Championship.

Jumps to T12 at RBC Heritage McCarty fired a three-under 68 in the final round of the RBC Heritage to finish in a four-way share of 12th.

Impact McCarty made his biggest move up the leaderboard Saturday, when he finished with a five-under 66 score with six birdies and one bogey. He gained 2.78 strokes off the tee to rank 10th in the tournament in that category while finishing T8 in driving accuracy and T12 in birdies made. It was a nice follow-up performance to McCarty's T24 finish at The Masters, and his performance at Harbour Town was his best since The American Express in January (T2). He'll pair up with Mac Meissner at the Zurich Classic next week.

T39 at Valero Texas Open McCarty posted a one-under 71 during the final round of the Valero Texas Open to finish in a 10-way share of 39th.

Impact McCarty opened the tournament with a two-over 74 but rebounded with a four-under 68 in the second round to make the cut line. He ranked in the top-20 in both driving accuracy and GIR but finished 65th in SG: Putting, losing 2.87 strokes in that category. McCarty has made the cut in seven of 10 PGA Tour events this season, but he has finished outside the top-20 in each of his last seven outings. He's in the field for The Masters next week, where he finished T14 in his debut appearance at Augusta National in 2025.

Difficult week at Bay Hill McCarty closed the week with a one-over par 73 in the final round of the Arnold Palmer Invitational to finish tied for 41st.

Impact McCarty got off to a slow start at the Arnold Palmer Invitational as he really struggled with with all parts of his game in the first round. McCarty was able to card a three-over 75 in the first round as he lost strokes in all Strokes Gained categories. McCarty quickly put that opening round performance behind him as he rebounded with rounds of 70-71 to make the cut and get back to level par for the tournament. On the week, McCarty's biggest weakness was with his ball striking both in SG: Approach and SG: Off the Tee, each of which saw him lose more than two strokes to the field. On the positive side, McCarty was able to find success with the flat stick as he gained close to three and a half strokes on the field in SG: Putting. This is a positive that he can take into his next start at The Players Championship.

Eighth in putts per GIR at Riviera McCarty closed with a two-under 69 on Sunday at The Genesis Invitational to finish seven-under and tied for 24th.

Impact McCarty broke par in all four of his rounds at Riviera Country Club, ultimately ranking eighth among the field in putts per GIR and 20th in SG: Putting en route to 18 total birdies. He's now gained strokes with the flat stick in five consecutive outings, securing three top-25 finishes in the process. Since the turn of the calendar year, McCarty has improved from 55th to 39th in the Official World Golf Ranking, though he won't be in attendance for the upcoming Cognizant Classic.

Ties for 67th at Pebble McCarty fired a four-under 68 on Sunday at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am to finish three-under and tied for 67th.

Impact McCarty racked up six final-round birdies at Pebble Beach, gaining 3.02 strokes with the flat stick while sinking 126 feet of putts Sunday. However, he ended the Signature Event ranked just 71st among the field in SG: Approach and T62 in GIR percentage. Impact McCarty followed up his T2 effort in La Quinta with another top-20 result at Torrey Pines, where the flat stick remained a positive as he gained 3.4 strokes putting across three measured rounds on the South Course. He also hit 36 of 56 fairways in regulation throughout the week, good enough to rank T7 among the field in driving accuracy. The Scottsdale, Arizona native will peg it again this week on home turf at the WM Phoenix Open.

Notches T2 finish in Palm Springs McCarty finished in a share of second place at The American Express after shooting a four-under 68 in the final round.

Impact This is a week where you need the putter to be working and it certainly was for McCarty as he ranked second in the field in putts per GIR. McCarty posted 15-under after the first two rounds at the two easier courses this week, but then back-to-back 68s at the Stadium Course helped him secure a four-way share of second. This was a great bounce-back after a disappointing T55 in the season-opener at the Sony Open last week. McCarty will be in the field next week at the Farmers Insurance Open.

JANUARY 26 • ROTOWIRE

Ties for 55th in Hawaii McCarty shot an even-par 70 on Sunday at the Sony Open in Hawaii to finish three-under and tied for 55th.

Impact McCarty gained 3.55 strokes ball striking throughout his week at Waialae Country Club, but he ranked just 71st in SG: Around-the-Green while converting only eight of 16 scrambling opportunities. Nonetheless, McCarty averaged four birdies per round in Hawaii, and he'll tee it up again this week at The American Express.

Teeing it up in Australia McCarty (undisclosed) is listed in the field for this week's Crown Australian Open.

Impact McCarty withdrew prior to The RSM Classic in mid-November due to an undisclosed reason, but he'll return this week on the DP World Tour for his first tournament appearance since a T3 result at the Bank of Utah Championship in late October.

T3 in title defense McCarty shot a one-under 70 in the final round to finish in a share of third place at the Bank of Utah Championship.

Impact McCarty had a solid chance to go back-to-back at this event, but he got off to a rough start on Sunday with bogeys on three of his first six holes. McCarty bounced back with birdies on three of the next four holes, but he was too far back at that point, especially considering how well Michael Brennan was playing. McCarty led the field at Black Desert in SG: Putting, but was outside the top-40 in SG: Approach and SG: Around-the-Green. He moves up to 74th in the FedExCup Fall standings and will look to make a few corrections before his next start.

Surges with Sunday 60 McCarty jumped into a share of 14th place after firing an 11-under 60 in the final round of the Baycurrent Classic.

Impact McCarty had a solid start with four birdies in the first eight holes Sunday but really caught fire on the back-nine with eight consecutive birdies. Needing just a par on the closing hole to shoot 59, he hit his tee shot out of bounds and ultimately carded his only bogey of the day to shoot 60. McCarty's 24 birdies for the week ranked second in the field. It's his fourth top-15 finish of the year and second in his last three starts.

Top-10 finish in NC McCarty fired a six-under 64 in the final round of the Wyndham Championship to finish in a share of eighth place.

Impact McCarty rebounded from an over-par third round to card seven birdies Sunday and climb 13 spots on the leaderboard and into the top-10. He was solid all around, gaining shots in every strokes gained category for the week and ranked in the top-10 in fewest bogeys and scrambling. Although McCarty will miss out on the playoffs, his PGA Tour card is locked up through next year after winning last fall.
