Since his T4 at the U.S. Open, Poston has finished 69th-T51-MC-MC, which isn't the kind of form you'd be hoping for entering next week's playoffs at the St. Jude Championship, where he's finished within the top-25 in three of his last four appearances at TPC Southwind.

Impact Poston opened with a one-over 71 on Thursday, and it looked like he had no chance to make the cut after going three-over through the first 11 holes of the second round. However, Poston proceeded to go two-under from holes 12 to 17 and needed a birdie on the 18th to make the cut. However, he could not sink his nine-foot birdie putt and missed his fifth cut of the season and first since the PGA Championship. Poston gained 2.85 strokes with his putter, which ranked 12th in the field through two rounds, but he also lost 1.36 strokes off the tee (141st) and lost another 1.32 strokes in his short game (144th). He won't tee off next week at the 3M Open.

Impact Poston has enjoyed previous outings at TPC Deere Run, having won the event in 2022 before following that up with a T6 in 2023, but he didn't. He couldn't replicate that success this time around, and he's now finished outside the top-50 in six of nine appearances at the John Deere Classic. Poston's 22 birdies were tied for fifth most in the field and he also ranked T8 in driving accuracy and ninth in SG: Off-the-Tee. However, he ranked 69th in both SG: Approach and Around -- losing 3.65 strokes across those two categories -- and finished T61 in bogeys and 75th in scrambling. Poston will take a week's break before teeing off at The Open Championship in two weeks, which he earned a spot in thanks to his playoff victory over Ryan Gerard at the Memorial Tournament. Poston has been in the field for The Open in each of the last four years, but his T41 at Royal Liverpool in 2023 is the only time he's made the cut at golf's oldest major.

Another strong showing Poston finished in a share of fourth place at the U.S. Open following a three-under 67 in the final round.

Impact Poston was making his first start since getting back in the win column two weeks ago at the Memorial Tournament. He opened with rounds of 71-71-71, but he finally got things rolling on Sunday. Poston closed his front-nine birdies on four of the final five holes. He made a sloppy bogey on 10, but came right back with birdies at 11 and 12. Poston actually had a couple more really good looks down the stretch, but was unable to convert. He ranked top 10 at Shinnecock for the week in SG: Off-the-Tee, SG: Around-the-Green and SG: Putting. The T4 finish will secure him a spot in the U.S. Open next year and moves him up to 32nd in the OWGR. Poston is in the field for next week's Travelers Championship.

Impact Poston also withdrew from his U.S. Open Final Qualifier on Monday after winning the Memorial Tournament which moved him up to 39th in the OWGR. Impact The Muirfield course proved to be a difficult one to navigate for the majority of the field, but Poston surged to the top of the leaderboard with a seven-under 65 in the second round that included six birdies on the front nine. He entered Sunday with a three-stroke lead, but he fell behind by one stroke after going three-over through 13 holes. Poston rebounded with back-to-back birdies on holes 14 and 15 and forced a playoff with another birdie on the par-4 18th. His 11-foot birdie putt on the first playoff hole missed to the right of the cup, but he was able to close things out on the second go with a par to Gerard's bogey to secure the fourth PGA Tour win of Poston's career and first since the 2024 Shriners Children's Open.
