Scheffler rues missed putts but happy with his game after tee-to-green clinic at the British Open

T44 at Genesis Scottish Open Spaun closed with a two-over 72 on Sunday at the Genesis Scottish Open to finish three-under and tied for 44th.
Impact Spaun hit just two of 13 fairways in regulation during Sunday's final round at The Renaissance Club, though he finished the event ranked T16 among the field in GIR percentage while gaining 2.39 strokes on approach en route to 17 total birdies. However, he converted only seven of 18 scrambling opportunities, making just 54' 3" feet of putts per round in the process. Spaun will make his second career Open Championship appearance this week at Royal Birkdale.

Strong finish at the Travelers Spaun logged a 17-under cumulative score at the Travelers Championship to finish tied with Alex Fitzpatrick and Corey Conners for seventh.
Impact Spaun saved his best golf for Sunday, when he opened the final round with three-straight birdies before carding four more birdies over his last six holes, ending the day with a six-under 64. He did most of his damage on the green, gaining 5.0 strokes with his putter, which was fifth-best in the field. He also ranked T6 in birdies made and 13th in both SG: Approach and driving accuracy. It's been an interesting year for Spaun, who has missed the cut in all three majors this season. However, he's also finished in the top-25 in seven of his last 10 tournaments, with four top-10s that includes a victory at the Valero Texas Open in early April. Spaun is not teeing off at the John Deere Classic next week but is in the field for the Genesis Scottish Open in two weeks, where he missed the cut last year.

Impact Spaun was in the top-10 heading into Sunday with a four-under cumulative score through three rounds. He was two-under through the front nine but proceeded to drop two shots on the back, which included a double bogey on the par-4 13th. Spaun ended the tournament T3 in birdies, fourth in SG: Approach and in the top-20 in SG: Around-the-Green, scrambling and driving accuracy. It's been an up-and-down season for the 2025 U.S. Open champion, who has missed the cut in each of the first two majors of 2026, but he also has five top-15 finishes in his last eight events, including a win at the Valero Texas Open. Spaun won't tee off at the RBC Canadian Open next week, so the next time we'll see him is in his defense of his U.S. Open title in two weeks at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club.

Comes up short at Colonial CC Spaun posted an even-par 70 in the final round of the Charles Schwab Challenge to finish in a four-way tie for sixth.
Impact Spaun opened the tournament strongly with a bogey-free, six-under 64 in the first round. He stayed near the top of the leaderboard with back-to-back 68 scores and hit the ground running Sunday with two-straight birdies through the first two holes. However, Spaun dropped two shots in a five-hole span from holes six to 10, and he was unable to gain ground the rest of the way, finishing two shots back of Eric Cole and winner Russell Henley. Spaun ended the tournament T3 in GIR, T5 in birdies, ninth in SG: Around-the-Green, 11th in SG: Off-the-Tee, T15 in driving accuracy and 16th in SG: Approach. Even though he could not surge down the stretch, it was still an encouraging performance from Spaun after he missed the cut at the PGA Championship two weeks ago. He'll tee off at the Memorial Tournament next week, where he missed the cut in 2025.
