Impact Woodland's 2026 season started out slowly with four missed cuts in six tournaments, but he entered the week with a bit of momentum on his side after a T14 at the Valspar Championship. He enjoyed success at Memorial Park in 2025, finishing tied with Scottie Scheffler for second behind winner Min Woo Lee, but Woodland was even better this year. He carded rounds of 64-63-65 through the first three rounds of the tournament and entered Sunday with a one-shot lead over Nicolai Hojgaard. Hojgaard struggled to open the final round, which allowed Woodland to grow his lead after a four-under front nine that included three consecutive birdies from holes seven to nine. That was enough of a cushion for Woodland to capture his fifth PGA Tour victory and first tournament win since the U.S. Open in 2019. It was a feel-good moment for Woodland, who underwent brain surgery in September of 2023 and contemplated leaving golf altogether. The victory also means that he will be in the field for The Masters in two weeks time, where he finished T14 in 2023 before missing the cut in his last outing at Augusta National in 2024. Woodland is currently listed in the field for the Valero Texas Open next week, where he's made the cut in six of seven previous outings, including T40 in 2025.
