Ties for 46th at Valspar
Thompson fired a three-under 68 on Sunday at the Valspar Championship to finish even-par and tied for 46th.
Impact
Thompson rebounded from a missed cut at THE PLAYERS Championship with a five-under 66 during Thursday's opening round at Innisbrook, where he ultimately finished top-15 among the Valspar field in both SG: Putting and total feet of putts made. However, Thompson also lost 2.9 strokes around the green, and he hit just 23 of 52 total fairways in regulation. He'll be in attendance again this week for the Texas Children's Houston Open where he's placed T27-T21-T43 in three career trips to Memorial Park.

Best finish of 2026 in Puerto Rico
Thompson posted a 13-under cumulative score at the Puerto Rico Open to finish solo fourth.
Impact
Thompson started out slowly with an even-par 72 in the first round but managed to make the two-under cut line after a three-under 69 on Friday. He surged up the leaderboard with a seven-under 65 in the third round and did enough Sunday to capture his first top-5 finish of the 2026 Tour season (and first since the Shriners Children's Open in October of 2024). Thompson ended the event as the second-best scrambler while ranking T9 in GIR and T15 in driving accuracy. He'll be in the field next week for THE PLAYERS Championship, where he made the cut in two of three prior outings, including a T10 finish in 2025.

T60 at Cognizant Classic
Thompson closed with an even-par 71 on Sunday at the Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches to finish even-par and tied for 60th.
Impact
Thompson played the first 14 holes of Sunday's final round in four-under-par, but he recorded a quadruple bogey on the par-3 15th hole after finding the water on his first two swings. He ultimately finished the event ranked T2 among the field in driving accuracy and T12 in GIR percentage, but Thompson lost more than two strokes putting for a third consecutive start. He'll be in attendance again this week for the Puerto Rico Open.

Loses 4.9 strokes putting at FIO
Thompson carded a two-under 70 on Sunday at the Farmers Insurance Open to finish six-under and tied for 43rd.
Impact
Thompson's putting woes remained an issue this past week at Torrey Pines where he lost nearly five strokes with the flat stick, though he ranked 17th among the field in SG: Tee-to-Green across three rounds on the South Course. Thompson plans to make his third start of the 2026 season this week at the WM Phoenix Open where he placed T36-T15-MC the past three years.

Misses cut by one at The AmEx
Thompson recorded a 54-hole score of 10-under-par to miss the cut at The American Express by one shot.
Impact
Thompson broke 70 in each of his three rounds at The AmEx, but he hit just 23 of 42 fairways in regulation on the way to a missed cut in his 2026 debut. However, he gained 2.54 strokes from tee to green during his measured round on the more difficult Pete Dye Stadium Course, which is a positive feat to carry into the upcoming Farmers Insurance Open.

Narrowly misses playoffs
Thompson posted a two-under 68 on Sunday at the Wyndham Championship to finish in a share of 11th place.
Impact
Thompson began the week in 78th place in the FedExCup Standings and entered the final round in the top-10 of the tournament after starting with three consecutive rounds in the 60s. Looking to climb into the top-70, he three-putted the 72nd hole for bogey and dropped to 71st to be the first man out of the playoffs. Thompson led the field for the week in SG: Off-the-tee. Despite the result, his PGA Tour card is locked up through next year as he won the John Deere Classic in 2024.

MC in Minnesota
Thompson recorded a 36-hole score of two-under-par to miss the cut at last week's 3M Open by three shots.
Impact
Thompson hit over 70 percent of both the fairways and greens in regulation throughout his two rounds at TPC Twin Cities, but he tallied just five total par-breakers across 36 holes to ultimately miss his second straight cut. He drops six spots to No. 78 in the FedExCup standings, so Thompson needs to play well at the upcoming Wyndham Championship in order to make the playoffs.

Unable to convert 54-hole lead
Thompson carded a one-over 72 in the final round of the John Deere Classic to finish tied for 18th place.
Impact
Thompson was in position to defend his title as he entered the final round with a one-shot lead, but he was unable to get much going with only three birdies to go along with four bogeys to fall down the leaderboard. On a positive note, he gained shots in every strokes gained category for the tournament and was 10th in SG: Off-the-tee. It's only Thompson's third top-20 across 20 starts this year.
