Impact Ford continues to battle an undisclosed issue that has kept him out since the Valero Texas Open in early April. The 23-year-old was the No. 1 player in the PGA Tour University rankings in 2025, but has been unable to find his footing on Tour in 2026. Hopefully Ford is able to return soon as he sits 129th in the FedExCup standings.

Top-15 showing at The Amex Ford fired a seven-under 65 on Sunday to surge into a share of 13th place at The American Express.

Impact Ford played with Blades Brown the first three rounds, and while the 18-year-old stole most of the headlines, it was Ford who ultimately finished a shot ahead after 72 holes. Ford made up 24 spots in the final round with his 65 on Sunday. It was a struggle the second half of 2025 for the top player on the PGA Tour University rankings outside of a T3 in Utah, but he gained a lot of great experience and seems to be starting to put things together. Ford is fully exempt on Tour this year and being able to stay in the Top 100 would be very impressive for his rookie season. This is a great way to get things rolling in January. Ford will tee it up at Torrey Pines next week.
