Surges to third at Wyndham James fired a bogey-free, nine-under 61 in the final round of the Wyndham Championship to finish solo third with an 18-under cumulative score.

Impact What could have been for James had it not been for Saturday's round. The 23-year-old American opened the tournament with an eight-under 62 first round and was near the top of the leaderboard at 11-under heading into the weekend. However, his third round was marred by four bogeys from holes 10 to 14 to drop him to 15th on the leaderboard. He put together a valiant effort Sunday with the best round of the day, but he needed a victory to secure a spot in next week's FedExCup playoff opener, the St. Jude Championship. James co-led the field in both driving accuracy and GIR while ranking second in SG: Approach, seventh in SG: Off-the-Tee and 23rd in SG: Putting, though he finished 67th out of 81 in SG: Around. James will enter the FedExCup Fall season 108th in the Standings.

Ties for fourth at Corales James closed with a two-under 70 on Sunday at the Corales Puntacana Championship to finish 18-under and tied for fourth.

Impact James ranked top-5 among the field in each of SG: Approach, GIR percentage and scrambling en route to 22 total birdies and just three bogeys or worse across 72 holes at Corales Golf Club. The 23-year-old has now placed top-15 in back-to-back starts, and he'll be in attendance again this week at TPC Twin Cities for the 3M Open.

Falters over weekend at Travelers James recorded a four-under cumulative score at the Travelers Championship to finish tied with Sam Stevens and Min Woo Lee for 62nd.

Impact James' bogey-free, six-under 64 score Friday brought him to eight-under heading into the weekend. However, the 23-year-old American proceeded to go four-over across the final two days, with Sunday's round marred by five bogeys on the back nine. James has finished T54-T23-T62 in his three outings since earning his PGA Tour status through the 2027 season as the top-ranked player in the PGA Tour University Rankings. James is not listed in the field for next week's John Deere Classic.

Held 36-hole lead in pro debut James closed with a one-under 69 on Sunday at the RBC Canadian Open to finish three-under and tied for 54th.

Impact James found himself alone atop the leaderboard after playing the first 36 holes of his pro debut in a collective 10-under-par at TPC Toronto, but the University of Virginia product carded an eight-over 78 in Round 3 to fall well out of contention. Nonetheless, he finished second among the field in driving accuracy and T3 in par-5 scoring for the week. The four-time first-team All American now heads to Shinnecock Hills for his third career U.S. Open appearance.

Secures U.S. Open spot James made it through U.S. Open Final Qualifying in Purchase, NY after shooting rounds of 68-72 on Monday.

Impact James turned professional this week and will have full PGA Tour status for the remainder of this year and in 2027 as the No. 1 ranked player in the PGA Tour University Rankings. That said, he still had to earn his way into the U.S. Open and was able to pull it off by one shot. James is a very talented prospect who earned First Team All American honors in each of the last four years at Virginia. He will also tee it up at the RBC Canadian Open this week.
