Fades over weekend at JDC Smotherman posted a seven-under cumulative score at the John Deere Classic to finish tied for 58th.

Impact Smotherman opened the tournament nicely with a five-under 66 and entered the weekend at seven-under. However, he was unable to gain ground over the weekend, ending his tournament with a one-over 72 on Sunday that included four bogeys, one birdie and an eagle. Most of Smotherman's struggles came on the green, as he lost a whopping 6.12 strokes with his putter, which ranked 78th out of the 79 players who made the cut. His loses on the green mitigated the great work he did elsewhere; he ranked T4 in driving accuracy, T6 in GIR, 10th in both birdies and SG: Off-the-Tee and 17th in SG: Approach. Smotherman is in the field for next week's Genesis Scottish Open.

Smotherman is currently listed in the field for the Puerto Rico Open next week, where he's made the cut in each of his two outings at the event (T55 and T68 in 2022 and 2024, respectively).
