Non-contact practice Friday Watkins (undisclosed) logged a non-contact practice Friday morning, Cory Diaz of The Daily Advertiser reports.

Impact LSU returned to practice Friday, and though Watkins was not as active as he hoped to be, the wide receiver went through every drill in the morning, just without contact. The participation is an improvement from just missing practice entirely, and though his questionable status remains unchanged, he looks at least a bit more promising in terms of availability come Sept. 5 against Clemson.

Impact Unsurprisingly, LSU's fall camp continued this week but with a notable absence. Watkins has missed back-to-back practices after a solid start since the Tigers returned to practice. Without much more known about Watkins' health, his injury status is vaguely questionable going into LSU's season opener scheduled for Sept. 5 against Clemson.

Impact Back in the spring, it was announced that Watkins could earn a starting role following his transfer from Mississippi to LSU. After all, in 2025, he logged 26 receptions for 373 yards, followed head coach Lane Kiffin to LSU and stood out for the majority of his new team's spring camp. Though there is a lot of competition among the Tigers' receiver corps, Watkins still has a legitimate chance to surpass his 2025 production this coming season.
