Touchdown in season opener Watkins reeled in 7 of 11 targets for 110 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 51-10 victory versus Clemson.

Impact Many have been curious how the LSU wide receiver corps would settle out as there seemed to be many guys in the room and no true top target. If the season opener were any indicator, Watkins may have separated himself in that category as he nearly doubled any other pass catcher in receptions. Watkins put together a huge day and his first 100-yard game and first career touchdown as an LSU Tiger.

Non-contact practice Friday Watkins (undisclosed) logged a non-contact practice Friday morning, Cory Diaz of The Daily Advertiser reports.

Impact LSU returned to practice Friday, and though Watkins was not as active as he hoped to be, the wide receiver went through every drill in the morning, just without contact. Misses second straight practice Watkins (undisclosed) appears to have missed his second straight practice, Cory Diaz of the Lafayette Daily Advertiser reports.

Impact Unsurprisingly, LSU's fall camp continued this week but with a notable absence. Watkins has missed back-to-back practices after a solid start since the Tigers returned to practice. Without much more known about Watkins' health, his injury status is vaguely questionable going into LSU's season opener scheduled for Sept. 5 against Clemson.

First-team wideouts during practice Watkins has been among LSU's first-team wide receivers during fall camp, Zack Nagy of 247Sports.com reports.

Impact Back in the spring, it was announced that Watkins could earn a starting role following his transfer from Mississippi to LSU. After all, in 2025, he logged 26 receptions for 373 yards, followed head coach Lane Kiffin to LSU and stood out for the majority of his new team's spring camp. Though there is a lot of competition among the Tigers' receiver corps, Watkins still has a legitimate chance to surpass his 2025 production this coming season.
