Among likely starters held out of spring game Parker was among a list of expected starters this fall who were held out of Saturday's spring game, Josh Furlon of KSL.com reports.

Impact Parker joined the Utes this offseason as a transfer from Washington State after racking up 137 carries for 735 yards and four touchdowns a season ago. Utah's top ballcarrier last season, Micah Bernard, has graduated, vacating 197 carries from a season ago, while Mike Mitchell transferred to Arizona and Dijon Stanley is now at New Mexico State. Thus, the path is pretty clear for Parker to handle a workhorse role this fall. New Mexico transfer NaQuari Rogers and UNLV transfer Devin Green could be the two backs behind him on the depth chart heading into the fall.

Impact Not long after it was announced that NaQuari Rogers committed to Utah, Parker followed suit. Both join Mike Washington, who also committed to Utah less than one week ago. Even though Parker is the trio's only running back to not have more than five touchdowns, he logged exactly that amount during his 2024 season. Having also recorded 137 carries for 735 yards (over five per carry) during his freshman season then, he has a legitimate chance to be Utah's primary rusher during 2025.

Impact Parker will enter the portal following a single season with Washington State. The freshman running back was a big-time contributor in his debut season, running for 735 yards and four touchdowns on 5.4 YPC for the Cougars while adding 11 catches for 108 yards and a score through the air as well. The dynamic freshman will likely garner a high level of interest in the portal while retaining three years of eligbility at his next destination.

The freshman is still the number one running back, and he has accumulated 290 rushing yards on 51 carries so far in the first four games. The Cougars take on Boise State on Sept. 28. The Broncos' run defense is in the middle of the pack in the country.
