Impact Richard found running room basically the entire time he was on the field against Howard, averaging 9.8 YPC while crossing the century mark for the first time as a Hoosier. The 5-foot-9 running back also found the end zone for the third time in two games, crossing the goalline on a 14-yard scamper in the final minutes of the first half. Though he was outpaced by fellow back Lee Beebe Jr. in both yards and attempts on the day, the blowout nature of the game likely affected the snap totals and Richard's performance certainly should continue to provide him opportunities moving forward. A matchup against Western Kentucky awaits on Saturday.

Impact Richard had a productive first outing in Bloomington, pacing the team in yards while scoring a pair of touchdowns in a blowout victory. The former Boston College transfer found the end zone on a pair of short-yardage packages, scoring from two and one yards out in the first and fourth quarters, respectively. While he operated in a near 50/50 carry split with fellow back Lee Beebe Jr., Richard was more efficient while Beebe failed to score on the day. Another tuneup game is on the menu as the Hoosiers will host Howard on Saturday.

Impact The Hoosiers have yet to define a game plan for their rushing offense ahead of the 2026 season opener against North Texas on Sep. 5, but they could opt for a three-headed rushing attack. That would include Richard as well as Khobie Martin and Lee Beebe (knee), though most of the workload would be handled by Richard and Martin, as Beebe is coming back from an ACL injury. Richard spent the 2025 season at Boston College, recording 145 carries for 749 yards and nine touchdowns, as well as 30 catches for 213 yards and two scores, in 11 contests.
