Part of three-headed rushing attack Richard is expected to play a key role in Indiana's three-headed rushing attack to open the 2026 season, according to Michael Niziolek of The Indianapolis Star.
Impact The Hoosiers have yet to define a game plan for their rushing offense ahead of the 2026 season opener against North Texas on Sep. 5, but they could opt for a three-headed rushing attack. That would include Richard as well as Khobie Martin and Lee Beebe (knee), though most of the workload would be handled by Richard and Martin, as Beebe is coming back from an ACL injury. Richard spent the 2025 season at Boston College, recording 145 carries for 749 yards and nine touchdowns, as well as 30 catches for 213 yards and two scores, in 11 contests.

Headed to Indiana Richard has committed to Indiana, Hayes Fawcett of On3.com reports.
Impact Richard will transfer to IU after a strong sophomore season in which he totaled 962 yards from scrimmage and 11 total touchdowns. With current Hoosiers running backs Roman Hemby and Kaelon Black wrapping up their final year of eligibility, Richard could be in line for a featured role in 2026.

Impact Richard has two years of collegiate eligibility remaining. While part of Boston College for the other two years, he logged 200 rushing attempts for 1,027 yards and 11 touchdowns. Richard also recorded 32 receptions (on 44 targets) for 275 yards and two TDs.

Impact The tailback closed out his year with two straight 100-yard, two-touchdown performances. Richard had a roller coaster of a season, but he still ran for 749 yards and nine touchdowns while reeling in 30 catches for 213 yards and two scores through the air, and he did that on a largely dysfunctional Boston College offense. Richard, who has two more seasons of eligibility, looks to have big things ahead of him.

Impact Richard exploded for 141 yards, his second-highest rushing total of the season. After three quiet games, he simply turned it on against the Yellow Jackets, taking fewer carries than he did in each of the previous two contests but racking up way more yards. These kinds of games are still outliers for Richard, but it's good to see him finally log another productive performance.
