Commits to North Carolina
Kekahuna will transfer to North Carolina, per On3.com.
Impact
Kekauna spent three seasons with Wisconsin, but was underutilized as the Badgers' passing game has struggled mightily in recent years. This fall, he reeled in 26 catches for 211 yards, while rushing for 129 yards and a score on 14 carries. The receiver is fast and twitchy, and if he gets consistent targets in Chapel Hill, he could finally realize his potential.

Expected to enter portal
Kekahuna is expected to enter the NCAA's transfer portal, Evan Flood of On3 reports.
Impact
In 2025, for a second straight season, Kekahuna logged over 300 scrimmage yards for an underperforming Wisconsin team. The redshirt sophomore looks like he is leaving UW to take at least one of his two years of collegiate eligibility remaining elsewhere.

Records reception
Kekahuna (upper body) gathered in their only target for negative five yards during Saturday's 34-0 defeat against Ohio State.
Impact
Kekahuna continued his streak of logging a reception or carry in each of his 2025 games, but Saturday offered his worst performance of the year thus far, considering he finished with negative yards.

Dressed and warming up Saturday
Kekahuna (upper body) is dressed and warming up ahead of Saturday's game versus Ohio State, Cam Wilhorn of Sports Illustrated reports.
Impact
Kekahuna, who is officially considered questionable, is in uniform in warmups ahead of kickoff. It does not guarantee his availability, but it's certainly a good sign for his chances to play.

Questionable for Week 8
Kekahuna (upper body) is questionable for Saturday's game against Ohio State.
Impact
Going back to Week 7, Kekahuna's upper-body injury remains a problem, and it may cause him to sit out what will be Wisconsin's most formidable challenge of the season. Coming off a disastrous loss to Iowa and facing No. 1 reigning champions Ohio State, Wisconsin's team will need all the weapons it can muster.

Ruled out vs. Iowa
Kekahuna (upper body) has been ruled out for the remainder of Wisconsin's clash with Iowa, per Nick Osen of 247Sports.com.
Impact
Kekahuna took a shot from an Iowa defender after catching a screen pass, and was immediately helped off the field by trainers. Thus, it's unsurprising, though unfortunate for Wisconsin, to see him ruled out for the remainder of the game. Wisconsin will lean on Vinny Anthony, Jayden Ballard and Chris Brooks moving forward.

Grabs five balls in loss
Kekahuna hauled in 5 of 7 targets for 77 yards during Saturday's 27-10 defeat to Maryland.
Impact
Kekahuna has yet to find the end zone via a pass, but he flashed his speed with a long TD run two weeks ago. He logged his highest receiving yardage total despite the Badgers rotating through three different quarterbacks.

Romps for 61-yard score
Kekahuna caught 4 of 5 targets for 28 yards during Saturday's 42-10 win against Middle Tennessee State.
Impact
Kekahuna had a potential TD catch called back, but he later flashed his tremendous speed with the end-around run, weaving through traffic on the way to the end zone. The Badgers will no doubt try to get the ball in Kekahuna's hands for more runs in the future.

Looks available in fall
Kekahuna (lower body) is running routes in Wisconsin's team practice Monday, Evan Flood of 247Sports reports.
Impact
Flood publicized Billy Edwards missing Kekahuna on a slant. The wide receiver being able to run said route suggests that his lower body has fully recovered. During 2024, Kekahuna's statistical output significantly improved, going from relatively unimpressive stats to 25 receptions for 339 yards (13.6 averaged per reception) and two touchdowns.

Out for spring, probable for fall
Kekahuna (lower body) is out for the remainder of Wisconsin's spring practice but is expected to be available for fall camp, Evan Flood of 247Sports reports.
Impact
Unfortunately for Kekahuna, it appears he suffered a lower-body injury during one of Wisconsin's spring practice sessions, as their first has already been finished even before the announcement occurred. Fortunately for him, being expected to be available for fall camp suggests his availability status will be probable multiple months after the spring.

Returning to Wisconsin
Kekahuna will return to Wisconsin after previously announcing he'd enter the transfer portal, Jesse Temple of The Athletic reports.
Impact
Kekahuna is sticking around with the Badgers after initially intending to transfer out of the program. The freshman recorded 25 catches for 339 yards and two scores across 12 games in 2024, and he figures to play a big role on offense for Wisconsin in 2025.

Kekahuna is entering the transfer portal, Pete Thamel of ESPN reports.
Impact
With the Wisconsin Badgers eliminated from bowl contention in 2024, Kekahuna can get a head start in attracting suits for his 2025 season. The redshirt freshman broke out during 2024, his first year with triple-digit receiving yards and multiple touchdowns.

Catches six passes in defeat
Kekahuna tallied six receptions (on 10 targets) for 64 yards during Friday's 24-7 defeat against Minnesota.
Impact
Kekahuna led the Badgers in receptions, targets and receiving yards Week 14. The redshirt freshman once again filled in for the absence of starting slot receiver Will Pauling (undisclosed), who missed his second game in a row. This production ultimately came in vain, as the Badgers were eliminated from postseason competition with their seventh loss of the season. Kekahuna finished the 2024 campaign with 25 catches (on 49 targets) for 339 yards and two touchdowns.

Grabs four passes in blowout win
Kekahuna accrued four receptions (on five targets) for 39 yards during Saturday's 42-7 victory against Rutgers.
Impact
Kekahuna came back down to earth after his massive outing against Purdue last week. But, he still prominently figured into the passing game. The redshirt freshman finished with the Badgers' second-most targets behind starting slot receiver Will Pauling, who exited with an upper-body late in the first half. With Pauling sidelined for the rest of the game, Kekahuna clearly stepped up in his absence, and he should do the same once again if Pauling remains sidelined during next week's road game at Northwestern.

Explodes in second half Saturday
Kekahuna logged six receptions (on eight targets) for 134 yards and two touchdowns during Saturday's 52-6 victory over Purdue.
Impact
Kekahuna broke out with by far the best outing of his career while facing the Boilermakers' dreadful defense. The redshirt freshman first scored early in the third quarter when he caught an intermediate pass over the middle of the field before breaking away for a 69-yard touchdown. The 5-foot-10 speedster flashed his playmaking ability again when he ran and out-and-up for a 25-yard touchdown on Wisconsin's next offensive series. Kekahuna has had a very quiet start to the year since flashing in last year's bowl win against LSU. But, he seemed to take on a bigger role Week 6 after starting slot receiver Will Pauling briefly exited with a lower-body injury in the first half. Assuming Pauling is fully healthy, it will be worth monitoring if Kekahuna sees the same target share during this coming Saturday's road game at Rutgers.

Catches three passes Friday
Kekahuna gathered in all three targets for 34 yards during Friday's 28-14 win against Western Michigan.
Impact
Kekahuna was one of the star performers during the Badgers' offseason practices, and he built upon this growing reputation in the season opener. The 5-foot-11 speedster finished third on the team in catches behind returning starters Will Pauling (six) and Bryson Green (four). Kekhauna's three targets were also the third-most among the team's wideouts Friday, and he handled kickoff-return duties versus the Broncos. The redshirt sophomore is still behind his fellow slot receiver Pauling in Wisconsin's depth chart. But, Kekahuna's workload could increase as the team seeks to create more explosive plays moving forward. It will be worth monitoring how many targets he gets next Saturday versus South Dakota.
