UTSA wins 5th straight, rolls past Tulane 42-19

A’Marion Peterson scores two of UTSA's five touchdowns on the ground as the Roadrunners beat Tulane 42-19

Tosses first collegiate TD in win Johnson was 11-for-21 passing for 165 yards, one touchdown and one interception during Friday's 31-17 win against Memphis. He also had six rushes for 13 yards.
Impact Johnson earned the start under center Friday due to Kadin Semonza's struggles. The quarterback threw his first collegiate touchdown, finding Destyn Hill for a 38-yard scoring pass in the second quarter. He also threw an interception late in the contest while trying to position the offense in field-goal range before halftime. His performance did not stand out on the stat sheet, but he managed the game effectively to help Tulane pick up its third victory of the season against a strong Memphis squad. He is positioned to earn his second consecutive start at quarterback against UTSA in Week 8.

Steps in off bench to secure win Johnson completed 2 of 5 passes for 35 yards during Saturday's 24-21 victory over Southern Miss.
Impact Johnson relieved starting quarterback Kadin Semonza after he threw a crucial interception in the fourth quarter. The signal-caller stepped in and led the team to secure its second win of the season. He had limited passing attempts due to the ground attack doing most of the work, but still managed to close out the victory. It's worth noting that Johnson was the backup, which is surprising since Zeon Chriss-Gremillion was expected to hold that role after starting under center to begin the season. It's uncertain whether his performance earned him the starting job, though it may be unlikely given his limited workload. An upcoming bye gives Johnson an opportunity to potentially compete for the gig during practice and impress head coach Will Hall.
