TJ Thomas News, Rumors, Updates - Minnesota Golden Gophers | FOX Sports

Leading rusher again in win Thomas had 12 rushes for 56 yards and hauled in all two targets for 14 yards during Saturday's 20-14 victory over Michigan.

Impact Thomas once again led the way on the ground for the Golden Gophers, outpacing fellow running back Darius Taylor while maintaining a solid level of efficiency (4.7 YPC). The 5-foot-8 junior has seen an increased level of involvement in the running game recently and has capitalized, running for 256 yards and a touchdown on an impressive 7.1 YPC over his last three games. Taylor did manage to find the end zone twice against the Wolverines and was instrumental in the victory, but Thomas should continue to see opportunities moving forward. A road matchup against Purdue awaits on Saturday.

Leading runner in victory Thomas logged 13 rushes for 122 yards and one touchdown and hauled in 3 of 5 targets for negative eight yards during Saturday's 41-7 victory versus Akron.

Impact With Darius Taylor sidelined due to injury, Thomas made the most of his extended opportunities. The 5-foot-8 running back showed off his explosive ability, scoring on a 71-yard scamper in the fourth quarter to extend the Minnesota lead while averaging an exceptional 9.4 YPC. When Taylor is able to return, Thomas' opportunities will likely dwindle, though he will be hoping his performance on Saturday could at least earn him a share of touches moving forward.
