Withdraws name from portal Bell has decided to withdraw his name form the transfer portal and will return to UConn for the 2025 season, Pete Nakos of On3.com reports.
Impact Bell did not test the portal market long after recently announcing his decision to enter the transfer portal. The junior wide receiver totaled 50 receptions for 860 yards and five touchdowns across 13 games during the 2024 season.
JANUARY 4 • ROTOWIRE
Will enter portal Bell announced that he's entered the transfer portal.
Impact Bell will play in Saturday's Fenway Bowl against North Carolina, though it appears he'll look for a new opportunity in what will likely be his final year of eligibility next season. Bell, who joined UConn after three years at Wisconsin, figures to garner some interest after posting 783 yards and four touchdowns in 12 games with the Huskies.
DECEMBER 28, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Can't build against UMass Bell hauled in 2 of 6 targets for 24 yards during Saturday's 47-42 win over Massachusetts.
Impact Bell could not have quality back-to-back outings against the Minutemen. The previous week the junior caught 10 passes for 113 yards against Syracuse. Despite the dud against UMass, Bell led the Huskies in receiving, 783 yards on 47 receptions, in the regular season. He also had four touchdown catches but has not hit the end zone in the last seven games.
DECEMBER 3, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Leads Huskies in receiving Bell reeled in 10 of 17 targets for 113 yards during Saturday's 31-24 defeat versus Syracuse.
Impact Bell surpassed the century mark for the fourth time this season. It was the best output since the Sept. 28th game against Buffalo where the junior caught six passes for 153 yards, his best game in his career. Bell might have a tough time against a UMass defense (Nov. 30) that is in the top 10 in the country against the pass.
NOVEMBER 26, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Consistent receiving presence Bell compiled five receptions (on 10 targets) for 45 yards during Saturday's 31-23 win versus UAB.
Impact Bell continues to lead UConn in receiving yards with 646 on 35 catches for a team that runs the ball first. His next touchdown will tie a career mark of five that the junior set in 2022. Bell might have a tougher time against Syracuse on Nov. 23 to get that touchdown. The Orangemen defense is in the top 40 against the pass in the country.
NOVEMBER 12, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Quiet game in the air Bell caught 2 of 6 targets for 20 yards during Friday's 34-27 win against Georgia State.
Impact Bell continued his slow stretch for the last four games. Including the contest against Georgia State, the junior had 101 receiving yards on nine catches in four games. Bell still leads the Huskies in receiving with 601 yards on 30 catches. He will have a tough time against UAB on Nov. 9. The Blazers are one of the toughest defenses against the pass.
NOVEMBER 4, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Leads UConn in receiving Bell gathered in 3 of 9 targets for 47 yards during Saturday's 17-10 victory against Rice.
Impact In a low-scoring game as well as a running dominated contest, Bell did not do much damage, but he still averaged 15.7 yards per catch. The junior has not replicated his game against Buffalo on Sept. 28 where Bell collected 158 receiving yards. He has seven catches for only 81 receiving yards in the last three games including the contest against Rice. Bell will try to rebound against Georgia State on Nov. 1. The Panthers defense is in the middle of the nation against the pass.
OCTOBER 29, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Second quiet week in a row Bell reeled in 3 of 4 targets for 26 yards during Saturday's 23-20 loss versus Wake Forest.
Impact Bell has not been able to follow up on his contest against Buffalo (Sept. 28) where he collected 153 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Despite only four catches and 34 yards the past two games, the junior still leads the Huskies in receiving 534 yards on 25 catches and four touchdowns. Bell might have a tougher time catching the ball this week against Rice (Oct. 26). The Owls pass defense is top 16 in the country, but Rice has allowed almost two passing touchdowns per game in 2024.
OCTOBER 22, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Announced as starter Saturday Bell will be available for Saturday's game versus Wake Forest, Joe Arruda of the Hartford Courant reports.
Impact Bell did not miss any game time with his undisclosed injury and that injury will not be an issue versus Wake Forest. He was able to practice during the week and will unsurprisingly be available for the Huskies. He has caught 22 passes (on 39 targets) for 508 yards and four touchdowns this season.
OCTOBER 19, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Looks good at practice Bell (undisclosed) looks fully healthy during Tuesday's practice, Joe Arruda of the Hartford Courant reports.
Impact Bell, who limped off against FAU in Week 6, looks ready to go following the team's bye as they prepare to host Wake Forest on Saturday. The 6-foot redshirt junior has been the Huskies' clear number one option this season, totaling 22 receptions for 508 yards and four touchdowns across six outings. Bell will look to continue leading the wide receiver room for a 4-2 UConn squad in a tough matchup with the Demon Deacons this weekend.
OCTOBER 15, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Struggles against Owls Bell reeled in 1 of 6 targets for eight yards during Saturday's 29-20 win over Temple.
Impact The positive for the junior was that he was targeted six times. The negative was the one catch. Despite the poor outing, the Wisconsin transfer has already surpassed his receiving yardage for a season with 508. Bell collected 439 receiving yards in 2022 for the Badgers.
OCTOBER 7, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Career best, 3 TDs Bell hauled in 6 of 7 targets for 153 yards and three touchdowns during Saturday's 47-3 win versus Buffalo.
Impact Bell did something that hasn't been done in a Huskies' jersey since 1996 where Dak Newton had three receiving touchdowns against Villanova. The junior will have a tougher time on the receiving end against Temple this Saturday. The Owls defense is in the top 10 in the country against the pass.

Fagnano and Bell combine for 3 touchdowns in UConn's 47-3 win over Buffalo

Joe Fagnano came off the bench to throw three touchdown passes to Skyler Bell and UConn beat Buffalo 47-3 on Saturday
SEPTEMBER 28, 2024 • Associated Press
Not needed in win over Owls Bell notched one reception (on three targets) for 43 yards during Saturday's 48-14 win over Florida Atlantic.
Impact The junior transfer from Wisconsin was not needed against Florida Atlantic as the UConn running game rang up 423 yards on the ground and four touchdowns. Bell, the Huskies leading receiver, should have a better day on Sept. 18 against Buffalo whose pass defense is top 50 in the country.
SEPTEMBER 23, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Leads Huskies in receiving Bell logged seven receptions (on 13 targets) for 58 yards during Saturday's 26-21 defeat against Duke.
Impact The transfer from Wisconsin is making the most of his stay at UConn. In the first two games this season, the junior surpassed at least 100 yards in receiving, but this was the stiffest test for Bell against Duke. Like the Blue Devils, the Huskies next opponent, Florida Atlantic on Sept. 21 is also stingy against the pass.
SEPTEMBER 17, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Continues to Flourish in UConn Bell only needed two catches for 105 yards and a touchdown in the Connecticut 63-14 win over FCS Merrimack on Sept. 7.
Impact Bell, who transferred from Wisconsin, is making the most of his new home. The new Husky already has 246 receiving yards in his first two games. UConn will need him in the next contest against Duke (Sept. 14) who were in the top 50 in the nation against the pass last season.
SEPTEMBER 10, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Stellar Debut for Huskies Bell showed off his skills on Saturday with five catches for 141 yards to lead Connecticut's wide receivers in the 50-7 loss at Maryland.
Impact Bell transferred from Wisconsin to Connecticut along with quarterback Nick Evers (undisclosed). Evers left the game in the third quarter with an undisclosed injury. Bell actually was more productive with UConn's backup quarterback Joe Fagnano, four receptions for 104 yards.
SEPTEMBER 3, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Starting for the Huskies Bell will start at wideout for UConn in Week 1, per the Huskies' initial depth chart.
Impact Bell transferred in from Wisconsin this offseason after he couldn't quite crack the regular rotation in Madison. As more of a shifty slot threat, he was doomed to be behind the talented Will Pauling on the depth chart. Now, however, he's in line to be the Huskies' top receiver in 2024. With Nick Evers, another former Badger, as UConn's starting quarterback, Bell could be in for the biggest season of his career.
AUGUST 28, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Tallies season high in comeback win Bell accrued four receptions (on seven targets) for 53 yards during Saturday's 25-21 victory over Illinois.
Impact Bell managed his most productive outing of the season in terms of both targets and receiving yards. He also caught a crucial fade pass down the left sideline that set up the Badgers' final touchdown late in the fourth quarter, putting the team up 25-21. Bell's stat line still finished behind top slot receiver Will Pauling (seven receptions, 10 targets, 95 yards, one touchdown), and his marginal role in this relatively balanced passing attack will likely continue to negate his fantasy value moving forward.

A more explosive Wisconsin offense? How Chimere Dike, Skyler Bell have lifted passing game Graham Mertz is having his best season as Wisconsin's quarterback with the help of breakthrough seasons by Dike and Bell at receiver.
NOVEMBER 4, 2022 • THEATHLETIC.COM
Leads receivers in loss Bell caught four of his eight targets for 55 yards during Saturday's 52-21 loss to Ohio State.
Impact Bell led the Badgers' receiving corps in receptions, yards and targets while catching passes from struggling starter Graham Mertz (11-of-20 passing, 94 yards, 1:1 TD:INT ratio) on Saturday. The redshirt freshman has now led Wisconsin in receiving yards for the second straight week, and his status as an up-and-coming playmaker should net him consistent downfield looks while playing alongside No. 1 wideout Chimere Dike this season.
SEPTEMBER 25, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Explodes for two scores Bell hauled in all four of his targets for 108 yards and two touchdowns during Saturday's 66-7 win over New Mexico State.
Impact Bell broke out with touchdown grabs of 49 and 18 yards from quarterback Graham Mertz in the third quarter during Saturday's blowout win, thus matching his total number of catches and targets over the first two weeks of the 2022 campaign. The redshirt freshman was well regarded for his impressive performances in practice this offseason, and he now sits as Wisconsin's second-leading receiver behind junior Chimere Dike (9-14-172-1) this season. Nevertheless, Bell's production will likely come back down to earth as the Badgers likely revert back to their traditionally run-heavy offensive attack heading into Big Ten play.
SEPTEMBER 19, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Skyler Bell, wide receivers poised to surprise opponents in 2022 Wisconsin's wide receivers are virtually unknown across the Big Ten, but have been turning heads during the off-season.
