Undergoes season ending surgery Thompson underwent surgery last week to repair an upper body injury and will miss the remainder of the season, Kellis Robinett of The Wichita Eagle reports.
Impact Thompson suffered the injury back on Oct. 3 against Texas Tech. It was reported after that game that Thompson had not suffered any broken bones, but clearly there was still some issue with his shoulder that required surgery. Will Howard will be the starting quarterback moving forward. Thompson may be able to get a medical redshirt this season to preserve an extra year of eligibility.

Impact It was a career day for Thompson who now has helped the Wildcats knock off the Oklahoma Sooners two years in a row. It was surprising to see the senior pass for over 300 yards as he did not eclipse that mark in any single game in 2019. The three scores with his legs is something he has come accustomed to doing as he did that in two games last season. With a soft Texas Tech defense up next, Thompson should be considered in all fantasy formats, especially if he's going to put forth some significant passing production.
