Reportedly enters portal Byrd has reportedly entered the NCAA's transfer portal, Pete Nakos of On3 reports.

Impact The announcement is at least somewhat surprising, considering several factors. He announced his professional aspirations during the latest offseason. When that did not go through, Byrd joined Thompson High School's football staff, as confirmed by THS Athletics. Now, Nakos has reported Byrd entered the NCAA's portal as a graduate transfer, which would give him one more year of collegiate eligibility at his disposal.
