Out for New Mexico Bowl Williams (undisclosed) is out for the 2024 New Mexico Bowl between TCU and Louisiana-Lafayette, Steven Johnson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
Impact Johnson has not stated any reason as to why Williams is out for the New Mexico Bowl, but that just means he can get a head start on his professional aspirations. The senior wideout's 2024 season is his best yet. Johnson logged 60 receptions for 611 yards and six touchdowns, all career highs. However, what separated the senior's 2024 season from years past is his external stats. Johnson also recorded 51 carries for 322 yards and six touchdowns, along with a passing TD in only three attempts. Perhaps his breakout 2024 will be enough to get him NFL consideration in 2025.

Continues to rack up rushing scores Williams hauled in 3 of 7 targets for 15 yards during Saturday's 20-13 win versus Cincinnati. He also rushed for 10 yards and two touchdowns on eight carries.
Impact Williams has been extremely successful out of the wildcat formation with all six of his rushing touchdowns over the last five games, five of those scores coming in the last three games. Over that span of five games, he's also had at least three catches in all of those games. Williams has freaky talent, and it will be interesting to see if he plays in the bowl game or whether he opts out to prepare for the NFL Draft.

Impact Williams continued his dominance via the wildcat formation with two more rushing scores. Over TCU's last five games, he has 40 rushing attempts for 300 yards and four touchdowns. During that same span, he has 26 catches for 268 yards and two touchdown receptions. Thus, it's plausible to say that Williams is more of a running back than a receiver right now. He should continue in that dual role when the team finishes the regular season at Cincinnati.

The touchdown pass was a bonus as he also recorded the most catches for the Horned Frogs. Impact Williams is taking on a new dual-threat role with the Horned Frogs which includes significant snaps in a wildcat formation. The prep star quarterback has shown off the skills to excel in that formation and now has 18 rushes for 144 yards and a touchdown over his last two games. With TCU struggling to find an effective run-game out of the backfield, they may choose to go this route moving forward. It's excellent timing for fantasy as TCU plays Baylor in a game that should feature a lot of scoring next week.

Impact Williams led the way for the TCU receivers with a team-high 10 targets in a game that did not feature a lot of offense. With the passing game being stifled on both sides, TCU made sure to get Williams the ball with seven direct snaps which were successful at 10.3 yards per carry. This is a great sign for the star receiver as they look ahead to Texas Tech which does not have the defense to slow down the TCU offense. Williams is a must start against the Red Raiders.

It looks like Bech is the number one receiver in the rotation, but Williams has the kind of talent which could result in a huge game in any single week. TCU's QB Josh Hoover struggled with four turnovers against SMU, so that's a storyline worth watching. TCU will play at Kansas next week.

Teammate Jack Bech has more yards at 350, but Williams has been targeted quite a bit more at 29 looks to Bech's 20. TCU has an intriguing matchup at SMU and Williams is the best play for the TCU receivers.
