Heads to bench in loss
Noyer completed 10 of 21 passes for 94 yards and an interception in Saturday's 30-21 loss to Purdue.
Impact
Noyer gave way to Chance Nolan in the second half after a tepid showing under center. Both Noyer and Nolan will have to contend with Tristan Gebbia (hamstring) when he returns, so one should consider the QB situation in flux for the Beavers. It's unclear whether the team will continue with Noyer next week against Hawaii.

Starting opener
Noyer will start Saturday's season opener versus Purdue, Nick Daschel of The Oregonian reports.
Impact
Noyer was in a battle with Tristan Gebbia throughout camp, but Gebbia recently dealing with some hamstring soreness. It's unclear if that had anything to do with the decision of who will be under center Saturday, but Noyer will get the first look with the first-team offense. It doesn't seem likely he will have a huge leash to work with given Gebbia's presence.

In heat of QB battle
Noyer was first to lead the starting offense in live drills Wednesday but ceded the initial reps Thursday to Tristan Gebbia, T.J. Mathewson of Rivals reports.
Impact
Noyer is in the midst of a two-way quarterback battle with Gebbia that doesn't appear to have a clear leader in the clubhouse at this point. Things should begin to sort themselves out in the next week or so with the opener against Purdue coming up on two weeks away.
