Four-star receiver Rico Powers transfers to Jackson State from South Carolina Wide receiver Rico Powers played in 11 games for the South Carolina Gamecocks, totaling four catches for 31 yards.
Finds home at FCS school Powers announced Saturday that he has committed to FCS Jackson State, joining the program as a transfer from South Carolina, Brad Crawford of 247Sports.com reports.
Impact Powers entered the transfer portal in April following two seasons at South Carolina in which he compiled four receptions for 31 yards on 11 targets. The 6-foot-2, 185-pound wideout should be able to carve out a larger role at Jackson State than he had with the Gamecocks.

Impact Powers has been away from the team for the last couple weeks. It appears he did not like the fit with South Carolina and will seek a new opportunity with another school.

Impact The upcoming junior has only caught four total passes during his collegiate career and seemed to miss most of last season for an undisclosed reason that has apparently spilled over into the spring semester. It remains unclear if he'll be with the program this fall.
