Retires from football Davis officially announced his retirement from football, The State reports.

Impact After being away from the team for most of the 2021 season, Davis officially announced his retirement from football. The 5-foot-10 wide receiver played just three fames for the Gamecocks in the 2018 season, catching two passes for 23 yards and a touchdown.

Still dealing with health issues Head coach Shane Beamer relayed Wednesday that Davis remains away from the team as he continues to recover from health issues, Ben Portnoy of The State reports.

Impact Davis hasn't seen the field since 2018 and doesn't appear to have a clear return timeline at this point. Even when or if the senior is ready to return, it's unclear how much of a role he would have on offense given his extended time away from the game.
