Probable for Week 1 Joyner (knee) is probable for Texas Tech's season opener Sept. 5 against Abilene Christian, Jarrett Ramirez of On3.com reports.

Impact Big 12 Media Days continued Tuesday, and Texas Tech's head coach Joey McGuire received questions, one of their subjects about the injured Joyner. McGuire was asked how soon Joyner would become available. "Week one," the head coach said. "I expect him really right off the bat being ready to go." The development is big news, considering just how excellent Joyner was before his injured knee rendered him out for all of 2025.

Impact Texas Tech's running back room doesn't have a clear starting running back as of now. Head coach Joey McGuire mentioned how running backs Cameron Dickey, J'Koby Williams, and Joyner are listed as 1A, 1B, and 1C in his head. He also mentioned that Joyner is currently 225 pounds now while he was 215 pounds when he got injured and are looking to get his weight down.
